What You Saw Tonight Was the Trump Effect

Odd, the vile dems swept last evening decisively but they still act bat shit crazy.

Meh, maybe bat shit crazy works for them. :dunno:
They act the same way whether they win or lose. They’ve become insane.

Do you recall how bad the Democrats lost in 2010 after having huge majorities?
I was talking about behavior. As for the politics, he rammed through the ACA which has been one of the most pivotal pieces of legislation in recent history.

I’m sure there are other and contributory causes but one reason the stock market is doing well this century is because of the ACA. People are buying insurance. Money for corporations. Hospitals are billing insurance. More money for corporations. Add in the spin offs of therapy, pharmaceuticals, marketing, etc… you can see the economic impact. And of course more healthy people is pretty good too. The downside? There is none.

As always though, the GOP has done what they always do….lie, create fear, and mischacterize every detail. The sad thing is…it worked.

Republicans felt the wrath tonight of voters rejecting Trump's agenda. The biggest issue for voters was the economy, with half listing it as their number one focus. Almost a year into his second term Trump has failed to deliver on the economy as food and energy prices continue to rise and 60% of voters disapprove of his handling. Republicans have lost their gains with Latino voters. In New Jersey, 64% went for Sherrill citing the economy and his handling of immigration has their largest concerns. Trump almost won New Jersey in last year's election largely due to the swing of Latino voters to the GOP. Gen Z voters also did a 180 and overwhelmingly backed the Democratic candidates after backing Trump last year. Overall, only 37% of voters approve of the job he is doing.

These numbers are abysmal and it's the only way a man like Jay Jones can get elected to the top law enforcement office in the state, despite his sociopathic comments about his opponents' children being publicly leaked. It's not just "blue state" statewide offices either. Down ballot, Republicans have lost 11 seats in the Virginia House Delegates, taking the Democrats' 51-49 majority to 62-38. In Georgia, Democrats defeated Republican incumbents in statewide races for Public Service Commissioner. In Pennsylvania, they are sweeping judicial races across the board.

MAGA appears to be repeating the same errors of the 2018 midterm election cycle, denying that Trump is an albatross around their necks by not delivering what the people want. They went on to lose 41 House seats that year.
Deep blue states electing communists.

When the blowhard's lies have served their purpose, he spews new ones, and none of his toadies ask pertinent questions such as "Have any Black immigrants actually been arrested for eating pet cats and dogs in Ohio?" despite Trump's and Vance's hysterical ravings.

Demonizing undocumented workers and their families wee wee'd up the Trumpy xenophobes, but that appears to be taking a back seat to Islamophobia.

Trumpies always need the "other" to blame and persecute.

BS. They are here innviolation of our immigration laws

Yes, the markets and corporate profits are doing very well while people struggle more every year with their health care costs.

Trump would have if he cared more about the good of New York than he did about his political games.
Why the fck would we support a proud communist. The world has seen these kind of clowns forever. The rest of the investers will leave this miserable state.

Own the didaster that is coming to you.

It’s the same concerns that Trump used to get re-elected.

Too bad he didn’t deliver.

Of course any thinking person knew he COULDN’T deliver

Except NY elected Guliani.
It elected Bloomberg when he used to pretend to be a Republican.
It elected Adams when he spouted that "Blue Lives Matter" garbage.

A "simply liberal" NYC would have elected Cuomo and called it a day.

The fact that it elected someone as far off the grid as Mamdani shows things are getting ugly out there.
That was decades ago. Try and keep up.

Could it be that “Team Hitler,” “the Jews killed Jesus,” “brown people should go back to where they came from,” and “Christian Zionism is evil” are not the winning messages for MAGA and the GOP moving forward?

Just asking.

The two outliers that I am aware of is the energy commission election in Georgia and the Supreme Court election in Pennsylvania. Trump specifically campaigned against re-electing the justices.

Georgia and Pennsylvania can both be close elections and the Democrats won them both.
