What You Saw Tonight Was the Trump Effect

Republicans felt the wrath tonight of voters rejecting Trump's agenda. The biggest issue for voters was the economy, with half listing it as their number one focus. Almost a year into his second term Trump has failed to deliver on the economy as food and energy prices continue to rise and 60% of voters disapprove of his handling. Republicans have lost their gains with Latino voters. In New Jersey, 64% went for Sherrill citing the economy and his handling of immigration has their largest concerns. Trump almost won New Jersey in last year's election largely due to the swing of Latino voters to the GOP. Gen Z voters also did a 180 and overwhelmingly backed the Democratic candidates after backing Trump last year. Overall, only 37% of voters approve of the job he is doing.

These numbers are abysmal and it's the only way a man like Jay Jones can get elected to the top law enforcement office in the state, despite his sociopathic comments about his opponents' children being publicly leaked. It's not just "blue state" statewide offices either. Down ballot, Republicans have lost 11 seats in the Virginia House Delegates, taking the Democrats' 51-49 majority to 62-38. In Georgia, Democrats defeated Republican incumbents in statewide races for Public Service Commissioner. In Pennsylvania, they are sweeping judicial races across the board.

MAGA appears to be repeating the same errors of the 2018 midterm election cycle, denying that Trump is an albatross around their necks by not delivering what the people want. They went on to lose 41 House seats that year.
Well, actually, if you REALLY look at it, democrats won elections that democrats usually win in NYC, New Jersey, and Virginia, Trump or no Trump.

So tell me what do the people want genius?

All of the marquee races went our way — Mamdani, Spanberger, and key down‑ballot candidates in Virginia, Sherrill in New Jersey, and Proposition 50 here in California. All over performed. Our voters turned out in force and then some.

There were also striking surprises: the Virginia House flipped from razor‑thin margins to a commanding 63-37 Democratic majority; Maine decisively rejected the voter‑restriction Question 1; and Pennsylvania voters retained three justices on the state Supreme Court; and others, for example in Georgia— all outcomes with important downstream effects.

On the Republican side, Ed Day (R‑NY) won a fourth term as Rockland County executive…

It wasn’t just the victories. It was the margins of those victories.

We all knew Mamdani was going to win New York’s mayoral race. But 15 points in Virginia? 13 points in New Jersey? 60% margins for retention of Democratic Supreme Court Justices in PA, despite millions in crap ads funded by Republican dark money? Virginia amping its House of Delegates to Dems with 13 plus margins? Maine dumping an anti-Democratic voter bill? California’s Prop 50 isn’t called yet (oh wait, it is), but the hits keep coming. I have a good feeling about how that one will end up.
This is beyond a shellacking. It’s a total repudiation, in an extremely polarized environment. This kind of thing just doesn’t happen.

Looks like those people that run the polls still can't get it right.
Democrats won elections that democrats normally win. So, what if P50 passed? Another blue state dem victory.

In an Upset, Democrats Oust Two Republicans on Georgia’s Utility Board

In an upset, Democrats ousted two Republican members of Georgia’s utility board on Tuesday, according to preliminary results from secretary of state's office.

The closely watched races for two of the five seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission had been viewed not only as a referendum on rising electric bills but also as a bellwether for next year’s contests for governor and U.S. Senate.

Since 2007, no Democrat has served on the commission, whose members have six-year terms. But the two Democratic candidates tapped into anger over rising electric bills at a time when prices have risen sharply across the country. Over the last two years, the commission has approved six rate increases for Georgia Power, the state’s largest electric provider.

The obscure but powerful commission is ordinarily an electoral afterthought. In 2020, however, a federal lawsuit contended that the statewide elections for commission seats, which represent geographic districts, were unfair to Black voters. An appeals court eventually ruled against the plaintiffs, but the legal battle delayed elections for the commission. That set the stage for Tuesday’s races, the only statewide elections in Georgia this year.

Americans are pissed off. trump has given them plenty of reasons for why.

Trump cancels billions in clean energy grants while increasing subsidies for oil and gas
On Oct. 2, the Trump Department of Energy announced it was cancelling over $7.5 billion in federal funding for 223 clean energy projects that the administration argues would be a waste of taxpayer dollars. The projects are mostly in states that voted for Democrat Kamala Harris in last year’s presidential election.

But President Trump’s own landmark legislation signed in July, the “Big Beautiful Bill,” grants an additional $4 billion a year in new taxpayer subsidies to the fossil fuel industry. According to a recent report from Oil Change International, including existing fossil fuel subsidies, the U.S. federal government will subsidize the production of oil, gas, and coal by at least $34.8 billion per year in coming years.

Dimwingers elected in Dimwinger strongholds.

It will be fun watching NYC implode..
Yep.....it's hard to count how many moderate Democrats have moved to states like TN, TX, FL, and other red states because of the shit that leftist policies create.
The problem is these idiots still hang on to their usual voting habits.
I noticed here in TN how many man-bun wearing weirdos are living here now. I just noticed it this year.

Chris Christie (among other governors of NJ) is a republican. I’m not sure why you have zero grasp of history.

NY and NJ are very blue. How do you not know this?

Utility board, eh? Wow, that's important. Not.

LMAO as predicted the pathetic attempts and SPIN have begun. Dems win dark blue Dem districts that have voted Dem for decades, shocker.

These are the same Dem dumb asses who lost EVERY swing state just last November AND the national popular vote. Doubling down on the same lunatic left policies that led to their historic ass whooping.

RIP Dem party you retards.

Breaking: Democrats vow to put tampons in every boys bathroom nationwide and beat up women and make then cry by having freak men compete in womens sports.

It's pathetic really, Democrats are so beaten and humiliated they have to try spinning Dems winning historic Dem districts to have something to cling to.

Dems: Yeah so we got our asses whooped in an historic Dem loss last November BUT we just won NYC!!! :auiqs.jpg:

The difference this time in Virginia is the gop got slaughtered in our House of Delegates races.

Self inflicted wounds from communist.

Enjoy the destruction as the rest of the producers leave.

Democrats couldn’t even take one of the seven swing states because they had ignored the issues important to voters.
Democrats used to be good at lying to voters to win. In 2008 Democrats across the nation 'pretended' to be Reagan conservatives and won a large majority in the House, a super majority in the Senate and the White House.

Now Democrats are telling voters the truth. Their lunatic left wing incapable of not spewing their rhetoric loud and proud and America responded with HELL NO!

I would have been impressed if Democrats had pretended to be Trump Democrats and re-take the center from Trump and the Republicans. That would have been a winning strategy. I still say that's going to happen in 2026 and 2028. They can't win on who they are, so pretend to be Trump.
