My guess, probably nothing. For all the saber rattling, his options are really kind of limited. We don't have enough ground troops in theater to launch an invasion and regime change. (Given that Iran if four times bigger than Iraq, we wouldn't have enough troops without starting a draft.)

He could bomb some military facilities, but that would probably create more sympathy for Iran internationally. Given Iran has the latest in Russian Air Defense systems, we are going to lose some planes and pilots in the process.

More to the point, let's say he manages to provoke an internal coup against the Ayatollahs. That would just mean the Revolutionary Guard and Quds Force would be in charge, and they are even more radical.

They could have sent agents & attacked tankers away from Iran.

1) Israel. Push the US to attack Iran.
2) Saudi Arabia - Get the US to attack Iran
3) Saudi backed rebels in Yemen
4) Trump/Bolton itching for war.
5) Oil companies - a war in Iran would boost oil prices
