Tariffs increase the cost of goods. But no, they are not a tax. A tariff is an import duty, which means that it is directed. Taxes are not. You pay a sales tax on everything you buy. Same with immoral income taxes, they tax every dollar you earn - except for those protected bybuying indulgences from the churchexemptions passed by congress. Tariffs only target certain goods, consumers can avoid paying by choosing other goods. The tariffs levied against Biden's masters were intended, and indeed did, to help balance the extremely unbalanced trade with the democrat's mentors.

If by the next presidential election, the virus is still filling up hospital iCUs, democrats are going have a hard time winning the presidency. This is why some republican governors are going all out to keep the virus going, forbidding or discouraging mask wearing in schools, opposing any vaccine mandate. If the virus is to be defeated there has to be a republican in the white house to take the credit. If it takes another hundred thousand dead, well that's just politics.
