What Rock Band/Album 70’s Through 80’s Would Still Be a Hit if Released Today?

Lol......I commented on a statement. It is on topic. Pink Floyd would be boycotted today over politics so no, the album would not be as popular today as it was in 1973.
LOL! Riiiiight. Pink Floyd would not be boycotted, what a bunch of liberal BS.
The album is or was in the Guinness Book of World Records for longevity in the top 100.
By the way, You are so wrapped up with your politics that you forgot this album was
popular globally, not just in the US.

So?
Their album did and it still sells, pknopp.
A bottom line fact.
Now go pound sand.

Pink Floyd, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and don't forget about Syd Barret, he started the band and was the driving force behind their creation. David Gilmour and Roger Waters, rock royalty.

Pink Floyd wrote a tribute song to Syd, this is actually over 25 minutes and 9 parts in its entirety. Has this been lost in today's world?

I'm rediscovering a lot of 70's music now, one band that I never fully appreciated was The Cars. Another band I never gave enough appreciation to was Styx. It's funny to me how they sound so much better today than they did when I listened to them on the radio or cassette tape (I remember listening to The Cars on an 8-track once)
The 70s was a great era for music. So much originality that is very lacking today.

Listening to this is like listening for the first time everytime. I’ve done whole gym visits with this one song alone. Trips too. …just got into them 2 years ago.

I think he has the highest male voice. Boston will never age.

I think the ‘popular’ music is just so vapid and uninspiring that anyone with any musical appreciation can’t get too interested.

There’s no singing anymore. Everything’s rap or auto tune. And this monotone rap shit, it’s just atrocious. Third grader tweet level lyrics. Just a symptom of the dumbing down/third worlding of America.
None of this crap will be listened to in 20 years. However, I have noticed that some of the current music is unabashedly mimicking original rock & roll hits.
