What makes someone a “Conservative”?

A system that ensures the best person hired is not evil. But your thinking is. You are far closer to the communist/marxist/socialist agenda that 99% who post here.
YOU are not championing 'The best person hired." You are promoting race over merit. That is plain evil.

His problem, like all his ilk, is that he equates government handing out money as compassion. It is the very darkest thing a person can do to hand out charity from the government.

There is a reason we have signs in all our wildlife areas in this country about feeding the animals.

Why don't we want people feeding the animals?

Because it fosters dependency, and they cannot survive, and lose their instincts to fend for themselves.

We are seeing that being played out, writ large, every day in our news and unrest.
Trump is talking about rebate this and rebate that and no tax on overtime and no tax on SS. Shut up, darkwind.

Yes, and I don't suppoprt his doing it, anymore than I would support any President/Congress doing it. It is wrong.

I will settle for what Jesus always preached. Help the least among us. He was ALL about that. I dont think a liberal NOR conservative follows that.

Helping people who need help is a function of government.

Conservatives say……Let em die

That is a common misconception
Contributing to your church pays for your Pastor, church facilities, heat, AC
Țhat does not help society as a whole

I don't see the misconception. That 30% difference in contributions to charity isn't being offset by liberals donating to secular causes in which they claim to support.

These secular organizations are far greater in number than religious institutions. Let's look at one example. "It takes a village to raise a child," is a sentiment I understand. So why aren't liberals donating the money they're not giving to any church and putting it towards an organization such as a local Boys & Girls Club?

The misconception I detect are liberal claims in supporting a cause. That 30% difference indicates to me that their so-called "support" to a greater extent is limited to a desire to wash their hands of the matter and have government handle it.
