What makes someone a “Conservative”?

/-----/ Uhhh, that's your interpretation. Read it again, slowly: Republicans tend to favor private institutions, such as religious organizations and schools,

Outreach: Funding faith-motivated social services, such as food pantries, homeless shelters, or international mission work.

Why Conservatives Prioritize These Areas

Research, such as the findings discussed in political discourse and studies by Arthur Brooks, suggests that conservative-leaning donors often contribute a higher percentage of their income to these private sectors compared to liberal-leaning donors.

FeaturePrivate Institutional Giving (Conservative-Leaning)Public/Welfare Giving (Liberal-Leaning)
Primary VehicleChurches, Private Foundations, Local CharitiesGovernment Programs, Advocacy Groups, Secular NGOs
Key ValueSubsidiarity: Problems should be handled by the smallest, most local authority possible.Social Justice: Systematic issues require broad, state-level interventions and policy changes.
Desired OutcomeIndividual transformation and local community stability.Large-scale equity and the strengthening of the social safety net.
Just give where ever you like.
Just silly arguing over what or who gives more. Say thanks to ALL of us who care about those out side our own circle.

/----/ I agree. This started when a poster said Republicans are greedy and stingy and don't want to help the poor. We have a right to defend ourselves.
EDIT - and here's another example taht was just posted.

Basically an indifference to the suffering of others.
A feeling of….I got mine, the hell with everyone else.

Because you keep calling me a maggot. It’s a pejorative and not overly productive. That’s why I do this and you refuse to admit you’re doing it. Why?
I've never called you a "maggot". Please quote my post that has triggered you into constantly lying about me. TIA

Back on topic: I'm a Libertarian conservative. What are you?

Republicans spending $400M for a vanity golden ballroom while cutting children's food programs is not helping the poor.

Conservative used to mean adhering to traditional values of God, country and family versus new ideas about "the rainbow coalition". Personally, while I lean towards the tried and true, I also know that one of the things that makes America great is that we are the world's greatest melting pot....at least until the MAGAts took over our federal government.

MAGAt = Maggot

I am a MAGA Independent

I believe the Democratic Party has moved too far left and is threat to America. Trump is their kryptonite.

I am First and foremost a capitalist. I strongly Believe in the the constitution, in secure borders, strong police force and a judicial system to back them, strong military and teachers not teaching our kids that America is inherently racist and that gender is a social construct. I further Believe that Islam is a radical ideology hiding behind a religion to garner protection. It is the 2nd biggest threat to our way of life behind Liberalism. Lastly, I believe people like you who use words they don’t understand are useful idiots to Leftists and Islamists.

How many homeless families live in your house with you?
None..

But I choose to live in an America where the wealthiest nation on earth takes care of its least fortunate
I choose to live in a country that is willing to spend $400 million on people who are struggling rather than a Ballroom

They aren't conservative. MAGAts are cultists who want a white nationalist autocracy and are willing to violently overthrow our Republic and shred our Constitution in order to achieve that goal.

It's all part of Project 2025. Do you support our Constitution and our Republic against all enemies, foreign and domestic? Have you ever taken an oath to support and defend our Constitution? In my day, all conservatives did so. Nowadays, MAGAts do not.
You called me a maggot twice in this post.

MAGAt = Maggot

I have explained this to you several times now.

$400mil is privately funded. Nice try

I have yet to see those receipts

Trump could have asked for $400 million to feed the poor rather than $400 million for a Golden Ballroom

Shows his priorities

Actually, it is wealthy blue states that take care of red states
You are under the impression that only Democrats live in blue states. I live in a blue state and pay hefty taxes. I am Not a Democrat. So your statement is nonsensical. 1% pay 40% of all taxes. So many blue voters contribute only pain.

Bullshyt. It's being built with private donations. When was the last time you bought a hungry child some food?

Why would he feed the poor? We have welfare for that. He wants a ballroom for security and for ambience. In your world no one should experience luxury because those who manage money poorly need handouts. Again, nonsensical. Instead of buying your next beer, give that money to the poor.

This is what happened

National banks were required to join the Fed system. Each member bank had to subscribe capital equal to 6% of its own capital and surplus.

Todd knew this but George is a moron. So this post is more for George than Todd
Enlighten me as to your "educated" insights into how closely the Fed follows this paradigm (don't be afraid to use big words):

"1. A private bank is granted the right to create money

2. The government borrows that money into existence

3. The government spends the money, stimulating the economy

4. The public is taxed to pay interest on the debt to the private bank

5. The bank collects interest on money it created from nothing

6. The debt is never fully repaid; it is rolled over perpetually."

In my opinion since this is an opinion forum and facts rarely matter:

1) Limited Govt. States and local rule over Federal rule when possible, which should lead to fiscal responsibility.

2) Personal responsibility over Govt is here to help

3) Support of Free Markets. Reasonable taxes. Reasonable regulation

4) Traditional values aka no furries, trans crap,
DEI

5) Strong and advanced military

6) Support strong border security and contolled
Legal immigration

7) Support strong law enforcement none of this cashless bail and such. Back the Blue

8) Support 2A

9) End birthright citizenship for illegals

10) Death penalty for convicted violent criminals

11) Pride in being an American

12) Reduce perpetual social programs and create a system of reward for work not for gaming the system

13) There are only two genders

Doesn’t sound so bad

🤷‍♂

Thoughts?
Agree 100%.
