What is Zionism, and why do some believe it’s a slur?

We see differently. I would make an offer to someone whose mind might be changed, but never to an evil Jew-hater beyond redemption.

That’s a mistake I find leftists make: thinking being nice to horrible, hateful people will help things. There’s simply a line I will not cross.

For example, I know a Jew (yes, a Jew) who marched with the pro-Palestinians as they chanted “Death to Jews!” within days of the 10/7 massacre. Funerals of murdered Jewish toddlers and children were still ongoing in Israel, and she casts her lot with the antisemites calling for more. I have not spoken with her since. She is beyond redemption.
Are you Israel and Israel is you?

Seems quite likely the same people who were promised the land by Gawd in the book were also the same people who wrote the book. That's kind of like a corporation being trusted to audit itself for false reporting.

the goal isn't to change a hater's mind, but to be available to anyone else who is watching and still deciding.

Is this Israeli Jew are traitor or a terrorist?

I finally got it to load. My verdict is that, first, I have no way of knowing that he is Israeli. Next, he is neither a traitor or a terrorist. Do you have a follow up question? A simpleton, maybe. A bad son, possibly.

No, many don't. Those that do, use it in conjunction with one with messianic messaging so it isn't a political or military statement but a religious one. The patch is not allowed by the army and the soldier who wore it was disciplined.

It was just one IDF wearing it??

Not exactly...

This is similar to Israel's "desire" to "police settler violence." "Nothing to see here..." yeah right.

Then "educate" me...
Sure -- Zionism is a very simple (but modern) idea:

the right of the Jewish people to self-determination and the existence of a Jewish state in their ancestral homeland
------------

the thing is, it is no longer a useful label because the existence of the state has been achieved. Someone now who is "anti-Zionism" is anti the continued existence of the state of Israel. The term should therefore be "anti-Israel." Is that a label for your position that you are comfortable with? I'll be happy to use that as it clarifies what your position seems to be. If that isn't your position, could you please clarify, keeping in mind the historical definition of the term. Thanks.

the existence of a Jewish state in their ancestral homeland

.... AS DEFINED IN CH 1 of BOOK OF JOSHUA.... thanks for validating EMH's definition...

It was just one IDF wearing it??
Can you show me a different number who were wearing it?
Not exactly...

But then you don't address what the patch is about and what the consequence was of his wearing it. Why?

No, not as defined in Joshua. Zionism says nothing about borders because, as I said, itis a modern label so it is not entrenched in the borders listed in the text. Did you have another question?

what the consequence was of his wearing it.

a hand slap and "don't be so obvious next time."

As to how many IDF wore them.... yawn. Hard to believe it was just one...
