This has to be stupidest shit I ever heard of in my life. So all my discover accounts will move to the capital one website. Has anyone ever heard of this silly shit?

Capital One completed its acquisition of Discover Financial Services on May 18, 2025, in a $35.3 billion all-stock deal, making Capital One the owner of Discover Bank, the Discover card brand, and its payment networks.

End thread!

I have cards with both but rarely use em. I got an email a while back about all of this but never really followed up to see what the deal was.

Haven't really used credit much over the last year or so. Heck, I don't even know what the interest rates are on em these days.

Not sure which one has a better rewards program either. I know that Discover isn't accepted everywhere but Capital One is a good card for travel abroad, historically speaking, or as far as I can remember anyway. Guess it doesn't really matter now, though, as it's a moot point wit hthe sale or merger or whatever it was that happened.

Sure. Happens all the time. Dozens of times.

JP Morgan Chase and Bank One, for example. Bank of America and MBNA, for another.

Now you have to listen to Samuel L. Jackson asking you what's in your wallet.

MBNA was good. Cawley had a heck of a car collection as I recall.

After BoA took it over it went to hell. I was reading in the paper that they had a big catered Pride flag raising ceremony recently where all of the gey employees came out for a couple of hours during the work day and participated. There were hundreds of em just at the one location. They were big into that whole BLM movement, too.
