Zone1 What is Wrong with Inequality?

You don't need a lot of money to build a really big bomb. Fertilizer and diesel fuel are cheap. The other components can be bought at any hardware store. The hard part of building a bomb is getting it to NOT go off when you build it. Any number of terrorists here and abroad have found that out the hard way.
Not really relevant. This guy was trying to use it as an excuse to say that people shouldn't be able to earn unlimited amounts during their lifetimes. It was a typical strawman argument.

The fact is the strongest work ethic will get one nowhere. Theres alot of factors involved. Wages are tied to effort. Less wage always means one should give less effort.
Unless you're somebody like me. I'm more than happy to accept minimum wage to get my foot in the door and prove what I can be worth to an employer. But once my employer knows what I can do and keeps me at or near minimum wage, I won't be staying there long.

You are missing the point yet again. I don't pay it. I didn't pay for my medical or life insurance at some of my jobs. They don't take it out of the paycheck! What part don't you get?
Uh .. like, they could just give you the money that they are spending on the insurance. Do you really not get that?

In the conflict that must exist between emoyer versus employee, I felt a surge of pride. It is that simple. I owed my current e.pliyer el zilch. Not even respect.
Analogies Are Poison to Brainwashing

The parasites at the top of the feeding chain benefit from your education (a lot more than from their own Bizz Skule degrees), yet don't pay for it. It's like college football being a free minor leagues for the NFL.

Baseball does it the way businesses should. A talented 18-year-old gets a lot of money to put himself through the minor leagues, which is baseball's equivalent of college education.

Walking off a job when needed...empowering, exhilarating. A job is simply a means to a paycheck. Quit one find another. Buddy bing.
Hen Economics

The bosses feel they don't have a job; they have a "position." The economic bullies feel it's all about their place in the pecking order.

Taxpayers teach that worker to read, do math, computer skills…..all that help the employer

Corporate America needs to be one of those taxpayers
The Eweniversity Never Got Over Being an HeirHead Hangout

It'd be more productive if they controlled and paid for education. Most Americans feel they should only be required to take job-related courses. Most academics despise the phrase "practical value."

A lot of community colleges gear their curriculum to serve the local industries.

Without Analogies, Logic Is Useless

You get zero wage as a college student. Education is directly related to the profits of those who hire you after you've already sacrificed some of the best years of your life. If that's the way they feel about it, why should we feel they'll treat us with respect after they hire us?

It's no different from being told in a job interview, "We'll give you a white-collar job, but only after you work four years here without pay at a blue-collar job."

Or construction companies saying to their hardhats, "We can't make any money off this building until it is finished. So you won't get paid until then."

I worked for a machine mfr. many years ago and the running joke in the company when dealing with a disgruntled employee was "Tell 'em you'll make 'em a lead man." For anyone worth their dust, they only heard it one time and they were down the road.

You think there is "conflict" between employers and employees? Now I'm SURE that your ex-employers were thrilled when you quit without notice! You're the type of employee that causes conflict.
Ross Perot Did the Same, Quitting a Stagnant Anti-Innovation IBM

He's the type who would have caused progress. You think it's all about ego, and only your Masters are allowed to be controlled by that.

Again...I hate to break this to you, Winger but far too many young people are joining the workforce who haven't been taught to read or do math by our schools! The inability of graduates to perform at a basic level is an indictment of the education system in this country that spends more money per student than any other industrialized nation yet doesn't teach!
Don't Expect Anything Better from IF YOU'RE SO SMART, WHY HAVEN'T YOU MADE THE RICH RICHER?

If college students aren't paid, college graduates aren't worth anything. Its whole purpose is to be humiliated by the HeirHead students.

Actually you do pay for it. If an employer does not provide group life and health insurance for its employees, your salary could be larger. For every benefit provided by an employer, wages will almost always be decreased by a sufficient amount to cover those costs.

Not at all. How much money is wasted on redundant or inefficient government?
It's a Preppy Republic

Blame the medieval privilege of inheritance for the decadence in the twin sides of both public and private sectors.

Despite hired histwhorians' lies, birth privileges have always caused inevitable obsolescence. Imagine if athletes had the right to pass on their positions to their sons. How long before pro sports became a joke and would be disbanded? If your jealousy of natural talent makes you want it subservient to inherited power, the joke's on you.

I never had a dime saved until I was 44. I wasted a lot of money in my youth, and lost my shirt during my marriage and divorce. Someone right out of high school could easily surpass what I've achieved. They would have a 26-year head start on me.

Two classmates of mine had purchased income property just a few years out of HS. One fellow and his brother had obtained two four-unit buildings, a girl and her husband had four buildings. This within 4 or 5 years out of HS. Meanwhile I was blowing every dime on wine, women, and RR.

So? You got lucky. Well done you. Does this mean everyone could do this?

That is due to demand. Excessive demand results in excessive pricing.
And why is there excessive demand?

Because people are buying more homes, renting them out, so young people and those without homes can't now afford to buy homes?
