Zone1 What is Wrong with Inequality?

MAGA opposes minimum wage, unions, worker safety, healthcare, worker benefits

They have sold out to the wealthy
Completely sold out, not to mention being willfully dragged around the nose by them.

Words mean things.

When I take the standard deduction on my taxes, am I getting subsidized?
Again. What is your point? Oil companies get DIRECT subsidies and INDIRECT subsidies. Dispute that or dont. Vocabulary does not change that oil companies get breaks other companies are not entitled to and are subsidized by US taxpayers that take on more debt for oil companies.

And other industries get breaks the oil guys don't qualify for.

Hard to get an exploration deduction when you manufacture lawn chairs.

You're all over the place. Some posts you like government handouts some posts you do not. Seemingly you only support stopping government handouts that will make people suffer. Why is that?
I favor policies that incentivize productivity.
I don't favor policies that incentivize indolence.

Again you choose to live in a society that caters to the wealthy and does nothing for the people.

Your taxes are higher because he wealthy and corporations pay less
Stop blaming the poor
The benefits that the poor receive are largely paid for by the rich. The Left wants to tax the rich more so more bennies can flow to the indolent.

Why do we play the games? Congress shouldn't be allowed to use taxes as a "carrot and stick" to manipulate society.
Well, start protesting oil subsidies and farm subsidies then. I'll be right behind you.

It's amazing how many poor people America can afford. Is this a great country or what?

I was just agreeing with you.
Were you? I oppose the entire corrupt system of tax "incentives". I assume you just think they should use it differently... ie help some other, more deserving, interest group instead. I'm a misreading you?

15th post
The poor in the USA today are living better than the poor ever have anywhere and anytime in human history. And by a wide margin.

Yea….pretty much so
We need to live in a nation that takes care of their less fortunate.

I think it’s amazing that poor people can afford big flat-screen TVs and the latest iPhone.

My parents grew up poor, and the best my grandparents could afford was a little portable radio that sat on the kitchen table. They were told that the big, free-standing radios that sat on legs were for rich people!

Let’s keep things in perspective, shall we?

That radio your grandparents bought cost more of their income than a flat screen TV today
  • The average annual income in the U.S. in the 1920s was around $1,500.
  • So even a $50 radio represented a significant purchase — like spending over $800–$1,000 in today’s money (adjusted for inflation).
