What is up with the Dictatorship?

A lot of sanitized history books shown in school and on college campuses (can we actually call those places of learning?) forget to mention that a lot of people who supported the New Deal and FDR actually called for a dictatorship when FDR got into office. These calls to eliminate the democratic and constitutional systems of law would never have occurred if FDR had lost so what is the connection between modern liberalism and dictatorship and can we actually call these people liberals if they are just looking for any excuse to throw away freedom and democracy?

It's not only his policies but he admires dictators and shuns our biggest allies.

Liberalism is the farthest you can get from a dictatorship because it consists of taking care of the poor and disadvantaged.
Conservatism takes care of the elite and tells the middle class and poor to go fuck themselves.
This has never been so prevalent under the most hated and despised president in history.
The one currently in violation of the Constitution.
