What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

Oh, I just thought of one: The People Under the Stairs. (I actually liked it) Not really broad appeal . . .

All the musicals, especially the musicals we were required to watch in school because the teachers were sick bastards: Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, etc.

Fury.

The last movie that made me say to myself "this stupid flick can't possibly get worse", only to get worse five minutes later, was Day After Tomorrow.

Fury did that to me again.
I never saw it, but it was pretty well reviewed. Was it any particular aspect of the movie that was bad?

The original Avatar. Didn't like it and it wasn't very original. The hype was wrong as it often is.

For me it was A Clockwork Orange.....It's enough to make you want to gouge your eyes out.

The sad part is I really like Malcom McDowell.

I went to the drive in in the early 70s to see that movie. LOL, Can't remember anything about it--she was hot though.

Any time the pundits give most films a positive review, I'm immediately skeptical.

The "plot" was predictable to the point of dreariness, the characters were two-dimensional cartoons, the poorly veiled preachiness, the final battle scene was absolutely preposterous...The flick is a grossly overrated train wreck.

Its like one of those open questions....”What is the most over-rated _________.” Something has to be “rated” before it can be over-rated. Films need to be seen to be the “worst” you ever saw. To expand...There was this film about Bigfoot that I saw. The IMDB review someone wrote said, “The acting was so stiff that I wondered if the actors had Dutch Elm disease.” I don’t recall the name of it and I doubt many of the actors could (or would) name it either. The question in the OP is more complete if it were to ask, “What is the worst film you’ve ever seen that critics or the public like?

The first movie that comes to mind is American Beauty. Hated it from the word “go”....and knowing what I know now...one of the creepiest. Spacey’s turn in Usual Suspects--one of my favorite pictures--was great. His Bobby Darin movie...yeech! Anyway, American Beauty was terrible. I’ve tried to watch Singing in the Rain like 4 times. Never got close to finishing it. Saw the play...that was good enough for me.

I don't try it very often. But I have never been able to watch the entire Swiss army man from start to finish. I think that is a test of finding out if you are a true liberal to be able to do that.

The L Ron Hubbard story made into a movie with Travolta may not have been the worst.

But it was god awful. Battlefield Earth.

Holy shit. What a clunker.

I enjoyed American Beauty, but yes, it took on a new feel after the accusations against Spacey came out.
