What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

Yes the concept was creative, but chosing it for the Holmes character is boring, should have went with a bear, like the more recent movies.

Huh?

You probably thought the Will Ferrell Holmes and Watson was a good movie.

Dune
Reds
M.A.S.H.
There are others
Serious movies listed many grade B and C movies would make the list.

First, I would ask which version of Dune you are talking about, the 1984 version or the 2021 and 2024 version.

Those are all great movies.

The one movie I walked out of was My Favorite Year way back in 1982. I found watching a drunk Peter O'Toole rather irritating.

Woody Allen's "Interiors".
My g/f at the time and I walked out, laughing about how simply awful it was.

Æon Flux

Even with Charlize Theron in a spandex unitard the whole movie (well, at the part of it before we walked out, it was truly that bad).

Most of the time trying to take a short cartoon and making it a live movie works out terribly.

Well, cited in the movie Ed Wood was one that was regarded as the worst movie ever made:
  • Plan 9 from Outer Space

The issue is to me that falls under the "So Bad it's actually Good" category, Like Battlefield Earth, or Caddyshack II.

One that comes to mind is "There Will Be Blood"

But the worst I can remember is "The Room"

the original DUNE

Have to disagree, I think it's a great movie. Has a lot of people in it who went on to do bigger and better things.

I tihnk it mostly captured the spirit of Frank Herbert's original novel. (And Herbert himself praised it.)

The only bad thing I will say about it is that if you haven't read the book, you'll have a hard time following the movie.

The other issue is you know a movie isn't long enough or it should have been multi-part when they have to explain things with voice overs.

A Clockwork Orange is a good movie.
Everything, Everywhere All at Once is excellent. Best movie of 2023 that I saw. It’s got plenty of silliness, but it’s funny, heartfelt, and just overall well done.

The worst movie I can remember seeing is Reign In Darkness, an Australian vampire movie. Saw a trailer that was in an extremely small window and thought it looked like it would be good. Had to wait forever to find it for rent at a Blockbuster or some other video store, and it ended up being incredibly awful.

You see, again, I have to disagree. I think the two-parter movie they did dragged on too long, particularly the desert scenes in Part 2.

They also completely ruined Chani's character by turning her into a Disney Girl Boss.

The Lynch version got all the key plot points in, and moved it along rather nicely.

As for the voiceovers, in the original film they were done by Virginia Madsen as Princess Irulan (which is consistent with the book, where each chapter began with her writings) or by the actors defining their thought processes, which again is consistent with the book.

Now, is it a perfect film? Hardly.

Did it tell the story effectively? For the most part, yes.

The Girl Boss thing is from your side of the aisle, not mine.

A few B movies that battle for the worst movie Ive seen:

Battlefield Earth - so bad its almost good

Battleship - so bad its just bad

Birdemic - so bad it has to be on purpose

I get Everything Everywhere All at Once was polarizing but I loved it.

I haven't seen Movie 43. I'll have to look that one up.
Have you watched it yet.
Warning....oddly effective.

Many Stars.
Low, VERY low rating, but it was very entertaining.

Give it, Movie 43, a chance.

I'd love to hear you honest thoughts.
