. They were filthy rich just like your corporate CEO's are today who in some cases were practicing a form of economic enslavement, where the employees can't ever be empowered to pursue their dreams no matter how hard or how long they work.
I agree. MANY good things came from unions. But sending jobs overseas or importing cheap foreign workers is like union busting on steroids.
thats the only good thing...we can fix it after the unions are gone....
Just how stupid are you. Unions put an end to child labor. They gave workers safer working conditions and better pay. They were also responsible for 8 hour work days and two day weekends off. What do we have now with all the union busting that has been going on? The average American worker has to work harder and longer, receiving less pay and paying more in taxes to receive far less than the citizens of all the other developed countries.
. Your unions screwed you in the end, screwed themselves in the end, and screwed the workers in the end. They were powerful, and then lost it by fault of their own.
Many unions were also run by scum sucking gangsters. But that doesn't mean that unions didn't do some positive things for our country in the past. Look at Andrew Carnegie. He was definitely anti-union. He looked at the long hours and poor working conditions he subjected his workers to as survival of the fittest. As if he was actually doing humanity a favor. But what he was actually doing was stuffing his pockets as full of money as they could hold.
But as I said before, sending American jobs overseas is like union busting on steroids. So is letting illegal invader scab scum mexicans come into and stay in our country. So you can't call the diminished power of unions their own fault.
