We don't know the whole story, so we should not rush to judgment.

People should renounce religion as it is sick and backwards.

The trinity based religions( 33,000) are a divided house--they will not stand-Mark 3:24-26--- that leaves about 3 to choose from that claim to be Christian--Jesus started one single religion-1Cor 1:10-- no division.

Wish people would get the story straight. Father Gallagher has not been ostracized, punished, etc. He was the one who invited the accused (a visiting priest from India), and due diligence was done by the parish before the priest arrived.

Upon learning of the incident the Florida parish put into action policies that have been in place since 2002, which include informing the authorities, the United Conference of Catholic Bishops, and even the Vatican since the priest's home diocese is in India.

The Catholic church tried to cover up a HUGE scandal. That is bottom line. They protected pedophile priests to save their reputation.

And they set up new procedures to fix the problem. So what's your point?

I'll add that not only have these "new" procedures been in place for a couple of decades now, social service organizations point other organizations having problems to the Catholic Church as the example of how to implement procedures to protect children.
