What is driving this trade war?

We are in a war with china

You stopped being a manufacturing nation YEARS ago. Manufacturing is NOT COMING BACK. Just like the horse and buggy is NOT COMING BACK.
Yeah, I saw that bs the first time you posted it...You have no idea what the plans are for manufacturing in the US....So, you can scream that all you want, it means nothing.
No economy can go backwards and survive. You take the lay of the land and look for your opportunities, but Trump keeps trying to go backwards. To the 1800's. To the 1980's. Anywhere but forward.
Yep, saw that bs too the first time...We will bring our manufacturing back, and if you people in Canada don't want to play ball, then you can pay.
And no people which has embraced authoritarianism or dictatorship has ever thrived economically because of it.
That's your label....You really should mind your own business up there and let American's decide what we want to do in OUR country.

You've got a lot of damn gall telling ANYONE Trump is attacking to "mind their own business". When Trump interferes with our government and our security, you bet your ass we're not letting you off the hook for electing this bozo.

Yeah, I DO know that manufacturing is NOT coming back. It's not physically possible to bring it back. The manufacturing that IS coming back, is all automated and needs highly trained workers to run it.

This isn't a "ball game" Mac. And Trump isn't holding ANY cards. Trump is acting like he's the King of the World and can do whatever the fuck he wants, and the rest of us are forced to go along with whatever he wants. The rest of the world owns US Treasury Bonds - Trillions of Dollars in Treasury bonds.

Trump pulled back on his tariffs, because the rest of the world started selling off your Treasury Bonds, and rate went up, the dollar went down, and the stock market was collapsing.

Your mistake is believing that Trump knows what he's doing. He doesn't have the first clue. He's just making it up as he goes along. This is why he's bankrupted all of the companies he tried to build.

Did you make that up all by yourself?

Do you really think that dear Old Trumpfy the President cannot tell the difference between a Plus ( +) and Minus (- ) sign ?

Now you be a good little boy, get back to your classroom and ask teacher to explain all about Cash and having No Cash .

Have a nice Chat and then next you might see how grown ups split this thing called Tariffs into Cash and No Cash situations and results .

But stop worrying, . It's not as difficult as you think .
.

What the fuck is the word salad supposed to be saying???? Clearly you haven't a clue as to what's going on, and you're trying to pretend you know what Trump is doing.

We're not going to win this. No way, no how. We're dealing with a mentally deficient sociopath who will blow this whole thing up rather than admit that he fucked up. There isn't an economist in this country predicting that this will end up a win for this country. We can ignore the bullshit coming from his W.H. patsies. They're just concerned with keeping their cushy jobs, so fuck them. The whole lot of them.

The motherfucker is a legend in his own mind.

Yeah, economists and business leaders are just exasperated. This is an impossible environment for any kind of critical planning and execution of business strategy, and it's pretty clear that Trump and MAGA have no idea what that means.

But will we "win" this? I guess it depends on the definition of "win". Trump's foreign policy in general is "you need us more than we need you, so nyah nyah nyah". And to a degree he's right, at least for now. So the plan is to bully countries into bending over for the bully. The global economy is just set up that way. So yeah, he could "win" that.

The question, of course, is at what cost. We have lost all credibility and soft power and every single country knows we'll stab it in the back on a whim. They're making new trade alliances and will do everything they can to extricate themselves from us ASAP. America is now a predator country, and that's how we'll be treated going forward.

Sadly, the flock thinks that this trade war will improve their lives in some material, tangible way. It most likely will not.

Either way, the world now knows: America is no longer about "freedom & liberty". It's about money & power.

What is the one (1) consistent common denominator in virtually ALL of Trump's relationships? The ONE thing he will ALWAYS complain about?

It's about how he is "treated". If he feels he has not been "treated" well enough, he gets angry and acts out. This is something that is happening in his head alone. He is the one who decides on the spot if he's being "treated" well enough. If not, here we go.

So in this case, he has obviously felt for decades that he has somehow been taken advantage of by other countries. That they're getting the better of him somehow. So now he's responding in the only way he knows: He's attacking without looking at a bigger picture. He attacks, sees that the results are bad, and then changes course.

I know that Trump's fans think that they'll see a clear, tangible and material difference in their lives once Trump has exacted his revenge on all those countries. The sad thing here is, on balance, they will not. There are larger issues that influence the vector of an economy.

Trump displays all the classic symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and is completely unfit for any office in government much less the presidency of the united states.

I disagree Trumpers will see a clear difference at the market, clothing and electronics stores when they end up paying much more than before. Although it's probably not the difference in their lives they were expecting.

And the path before???? More debt upon debt til the Globalist crash us.

I think there is no stopping the Reset anymore.

Well, we know that if it goes south for them, they'll just play the victim and blame da libz.

What's driving it is people being tired of buying junk. How many times a week do you hear people complain about junk from China? I hear it a lot. Granted, people should be more savvy consumers and they often get what they deserve; however, chinks should be put in their place.

Well, THERE'S some solid macroeconomic analysis!
