Why would Canada and Mexico dignify Trump's lies with a denial? These tariffs are illegal and violate USMCA. What more do we need to say?

"Cheating" is just Trump's lastest excuse for tearing up your agreement. First it was Border Security and Fentanyl. When both of those lies were debunked, it was "retaliatory tariffs" for the dairy tariff he lied about, and when that was debunked, it was "Canada and Mexico are cheating".

Nobody was "cheating" on anything. Your trade deficits with Canada and Mexico, which Trump vowed would end with the USAMCA Agreement, increased for both of your Trading Partners because Donald Trump is a terrible negotiator. Trump is simply doing this because he thinks he can.
