Much of what he did was not recorded. Suffice to say that he was sent by God to the other tribal descendants and sent the disciples there as well. He did heal the sick in Judea and in Galilee and Samaria.

In Christianity it means proclaiming the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God on earth, the promise of eternal life for the saved, and of course the call to repentance.

Biblically-speaking, because at the time of creation, the entire world was not inhabited. As more generations developed after Adam and Eve, some of those clans of people strayed away from the laws God gave Moses. Therefore God chose those who remained loyal to Him and kept His laws.

It wasn't until the death and resurrection of Jesus that all people could be God's chosen people.

The whole of the old testament is about Jews straying from the path... Falling into idolatry. All the prophets scolded them.
