What do the top ten cities with the highest poverty rate have in common with Baltimore?

DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP!

Contrary to the emotional blackmail some leftists are attempting to peddle, Baltimore is not America’s problem or shame. That failed city is solely and completely a Democrat problem.
Like many failed cities, Detroit comes to mind, and every city besieged recently by rioting,
Democrats and their union pals have had carte blanche to inflict their ideas and policies on Baltimore since 1967, the last time there was a Republican Mayor.

In 2012, after four years of his own failed policies, President Obama won a whopping 87.4% of the Baltimore City vote. Democrats run the city of Baltimore, the unions, the schools, and, yes, the police force.

Cincinnati, OH (3rd)… since 1984;

Poor urban people vote democrat, so what? It's not like they would vote republican since the GOP likes to use them as a scapegoat and a boogyman to scare their kids into behaving.

So you condone the behavior of the "kids" in Baltimore?
Obviously you are a "kid" yourself.
Grow up. Accept some responsibility.
Besides what is so wrong with "behaving"?

Besides it wasn't "kids" misbehaving...
Baltimore Police said 235 arrests were made overnight --
201 adults and 34 juveniles.
Twenty officers were injured in Monday night's violence.
The mayor's office said the city's fire department dealt with fires in 144 vehicles and 15 buildings.
Baltimore police said one person is in critical condition after one of those fires.
Baltimore riots lead to 202 arrests 159 fires - Baltimore Sun

But that's ok "adults" dependent on Democrat leadership are really "kids"...right?

The Democratic Mayors didn't gut our manufacturing base, idiot.

Which of the "Democratic" mayors moved automobile factories to Mexico?

Thanks to Republicans we have country that doesn't really Create Jobs, but still creates unwanted children (future jobless citizens).

Sorry, the "job-creator" myth is all GOP.

OK you totally missed that point. Poor urban people vote democrat because the GOP openly despises them to the point that it verges on open racism, if you didn't get that then I can't help you.

So how much has been spent by Democrats on these "kids"?

In his January 1964 State of the Union address, President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed,
“This administration today, here and now, declares unconditional war on poverty in America.”
In the 50 years since that time, U.S. taxpayers have spent over $22 trillion on anti-poverty programs.

Adjusted for inflation, this spending (which does not include Social Security or Medicare) is three times the cost of all U.S. military wars since the American Revolution. Yet progress against poverty, as measured by the U.S. Census Bureau, has been minimal, and in terms of President Johnson’s main goal of reducing the “causes” rather than the mere “consequences” of poverty, the War on Poverty has failed completely.
In fact, a significant portion of the population is now less capable of self-sufficiency than it was when the War on Poverty began.

When President Bill Clinton signed off on the North American Free Trade Agreement and the General Agreement on Trade & Tariffs in 1993,
otherwise known as NAFTA/GATT, he quite literally slashed the economic throat of the United States.
We've been hemorrhaging jobs to foreign nations like Communist China ever since.
Until 1993, the United States of America was the world's economic king, and our people enjoyed the highest standard of living in recorded history.
But NAFTA/GATT changed all that by virtually removing all trade protections that ensured our general prosperity.

Senate supporters were 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats.

Louisville, Kentucky hasn't had a Republican mayor in like forever, and yet it has had relatively few of the major problems these other cities have had. But since you want try to lay blame, the poorest states are almost all run by Republicans, and almost all in the south - Louisiana being the worst despite all the oil money it brings in. gee I wonder where all that money goes? You should ask Guvna Bobby where it goes.

Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn’t elected
a Republican mayor since 1961;

Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn’t elected one since 1954;

Cincinnati, OH (3rd)… since 1984;

Cleveland, OH (4th)… since 1989;

Miami, FL (5th) has never had a Republican Mayor;

St. Louis, MO (6th)…. since 1949;

And who keeps hollering for more money for the "poor"???

Louisville, Kentucky hasn't had a Republican mayor in like forever, and yet it has had relatively few of the major problems these other cities have had. But since you want try to lay blame, the poorest states are almost all run by Republicans, and almost all in the south - Louisiana being the worst despite all the oil money it brings in. gee I wonder where all that money goes? You should ask Guvna Bobby where it goes.

Why don't you deal with FACTS instead of guesses?
Yes at 49th Louisiana has 18.3% of households at Federal government poverty level...

Federal Poverty Level 2014 - 2015

THE BIG QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE COST OF LIVING IN Louisiana???
The cost of living in Louisiana is approximately 16.5 percent lower than the national average.

As far as "poorest states run by GOP" myth..

The most fundamental difference between the data that conservatives prefer—that the 10 poorest cities are longtime Democratic strongholds—and the data that liberals will be more inclined to cite—that the 10 poorest states are predominantly Republican, is that
conservatives can point to actual policies that Democrats implemented that contributed to the impoverishment of the cities,
while the liberals cannot point to specific GOP policies that have caused the poorer states to lag behind.

In other words the biggest difference is Democrats have spent $22 trillion on "war on poverty" and we still have the above Democrat cities bordering on bankruptcy!

That makes NO sense whatsoever!
"Even the poor" means "even the rich" can't live there!
Bad choice of words.

Plus IF you make $23,550 in Louisiana that means you can spend 16.5% MORE because the cost of living (COL) is less!
Your logic is extremely faulty!!!!
Let me help you!
If You spend $23,550 the poverty level in goods and services in Louisiana that means because the COL 16.5% lower the the USA you get more
16.5% MORE goods and services then if you lived say in New York.
Does that make sense to you? NO??? I figured you being a really hard-core LIP!

Red states have terribly regressive tax structures, the working poor carry them financially but nowhere are they less relevant to the priorities of state governments.

Democrats have been pointing at Republican failed policies for over 30 years. From the debt, the deficit, trickle down economics, tax cuts for the rich, piss poor job growth record, the worst recessions/depressions in history, the destruction of the middle class, insisting that unwed pregnancies be carried to term while simultaneously wanting to cut any assistance to these mothers (you cannot have it both ways), supporting corporate welfare while cutting welfare to the poor, and every war (except Bosnia) since Grenada while stiffing our vets. Is it a wonder the poor are still poor? Is it a wonder so many vets are homeless? Is it a wonder African Americans are rioting in the streets? Shall I continue?
