What do the top ten cities with the highest poverty rate have in common with Baltimore?
DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP!
Contrary to the emotional blackmail some leftists are attempting to peddle, Baltimore is not America’s problem or shame. That failed city is solely and completely a Democrat problem.
Like many failed cities, Detroit comes to mind, and every city besieged recently by rioting,
Democrats and their union pals have had carte blanche to inflict their ideas and policies on Baltimore since 1967, the last time there was a Republican Mayor.
In 2012, after four years of his own failed policies, President Obama won a whopping 87.4% of the Baltimore City vote. Democrats run the city of Baltimore, the unions, the schools, and, yes, the police force.
Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn’t elected
a Republican mayor since 1961;
Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn’t elected one since 1954;
Cincinnati, OH (3rd)… since 1984;
Cleveland, OH (4th)… since 1989;
Miami, FL (5th) has never had a Republican Mayor;
St. Louis, MO (6th)…. since 1949;
El Paso, TX (7th) has never had a Republican Mayor;
Milwaukee, WI (8th)… since 1908;
Philadelphia, PA (9th)… since 1952;
Newark, NJ (10th)… since 1907.

And who keeps hollering for more money for the "poor"???
Louisville, Kentucky hasn't had a Republican mayor in like forever, and yet it has had relatively few of the major problems these other cities have had. But since you want try to lay blame, the poorest states are almost all run by Republicans, and almost all in the south - Louisiana being the worst despite all the oil money it brings in. gee I wonder where all that money goes? You should ask Guvna Bobby where it goes.
Why don't you deal with FACTS instead of guesses?
Yes at 49th Louisiana has 18.3% of households at Federal government poverty level...

Federal Poverty Level 2014 - 2015
for a family of 4 Federal poverty level is $23,550.
THE BIG QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE COST OF LIVING IN Louisiana???
The cost of living in Louisiana is approximately 16.5 percent lower than the national average.
Cost of Living in Louisiana My Move
FACTS!!! But people like you that want to make us ALL LIVE BY some cubicle dwelling elitist bureaucrat... you don't think that's an issue!

Which means that despite the low cost of living, even the poor can't afford to live there.
That makes NO sense whatsoever!
"Even the poor" means "even the rich" can't live there!
Bad choice of words.
No, my words were spot on. If you are poor and live in a state where the cost of living is VERY LOW, then yo are VERY POOR.
Plus IF you make $23,550 in Louisiana that means you can spend 16.5% MORE because the cost of living (COL) is less!
Except that because of the cost of living, employers don't have to pay you as much, to say nothing about the fact that the unemployment rate in Louisiana is well above the national average.
