NO president has acted this CRAZY before. The man is insane !
I admit, he is a bit eccentric, I wouldn't say insane, but he is certainly self absorbed.

He can do the job though, that's what counts.

Do the Job? Hahaha, he is incompetent. He will fail and blame someone for the failure

If democrats try to hamstring him again, he can rightly blame them. They are already vowing to do what they can to interfere with his administration.

yes, and this is PROOF >>>

well, that is fair isn't it. After all, neither he nor the Republicans help Biden's administration in any way and they certainly debased and blamed him for EVERYTHING bad.

If the Republicans make it a point to intentionally sabotage bidens admin, then they can be blamed too.

There's a difference between not agreeing with laws, and claiming you are going to intentionally work to derail someone's presidency

You mean like the Border Bill that the Republican and Democrat group came up with in January 2024 that had 80% of what the Republicans wanted but then Trump nixed and then all Republicans went along with because they were more worried about getting Trump riled than they cared about fixing the border crisis?

A border bill that wasn't going to do anything to secure the border, and the Repuican members of congress were ready against before trump said anything.

I truly have a question that I would like to discuss. It is more of a general question but it does apply now.

What do you expect from Billionaires that are leaders, especially those that grew up in wealthy homes having everything they needed from the get go? Do you expect them to understand the travails, obstacles, hardships, needs of the middle and poor class? Be able to relate empathize to them in a way that is real?

In the case of Trump and of Musk, these are two leaders that were born rich and never had to experience the travails of a poor man or even of the middle class person. Can such a person understand and feel what the poor and middle class person had to go through to pay their bills, take care of their family, make sure there was food on the table, that they had health insurance and that the medical bills got paid? Did they ever have to experience racism, bullying, injustice, and life's pain as they grew up? Ever have to have 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet?

I want to now talk history and about some of the great leaders history has brought us.

Here are 5 that I found on Google

1) Mahatma Gandhi
2) Martin Luther King Jr.
3) Abraham Lincoln
4) Nelson Mandela
5) Winston Churchill

Did any of these people come from wealthy families? were they wealthy themselves? No, they weren't!

On the other side of the coin, here are 4 leaders that were among the richest of all time and see the havoc they wrought on their people

1) Augustus Caesar
2) Cosimo de Medici
3) Mansa Musa
4) Genghis Khan

I am not saying that wealthiness prevents someone from being a great leader, given that JF Kennedy was born to a rich family and was rich himself and was a good president. Nonetheless, there are several things that are "rarely" taught in rich families that are necessary ingredients that a leader must have. They are:
  1. Character and Integrity: Great leaders have unwavering character and integrity. They stick to their values and principles even when the decision is tough. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln exemplified this and led their followers with honesty and moral courage.
  2. Vision and Strategy: A great leader has a clear vision for the future and the strategic thinking to make it happen. Jeff Bezos, for example, has disrupted the retail industry with his long-term view and innovative strategies at Amazon.
  3. Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Leaders who understand and connect with their followers’ emotions can inspire and motivate like no one else. Martin Luther King Jr.’s empathetic approach and communication skills were key to the civil rights movement.
  4. Resilience and Perseverance: Great leadership requires the ability to withstand tough times and persevere through adversity. Nelson Mandela’s commitment to justice and equality despite decades of imprisonment shows incredible resilience.
  5. Impact and Legacy: Ultimately, a leader’s greatness is measured by the impact they have on their organization, community, or the world. The greatest leaders leave a legacy that continues to inspire and influence long after they are gone.
Of these 5 attributes, there are two that neither Trump nor Musk possess and that is Character and Integrity and Empathy and Emotional Intelligence. Without those two, the leader is very limited in what he will be able to accomplish "for the people"

As such, my view is that these two leaders we now have cannot become great for our nation. Having said that, I want to hear your views but your views need to be based on the fact that both of these men were born to wealthy families and never had to go through what you and I went through. How can they empathize with us without having some personal benefit to themselves as first priority? Have money, fame and power as their top priority?
I want people that have their own businesses, government workers are entitled

The point of my answer was to prove your statement wrong. The Republicans are as willing or more to sabotage the Democrats than otherwise.

While adversity can build character, it's no guarantee of character.

Stalin didn't come from wealth, for example. Neither did Mao.

I personally prefer leaders of the Milei mold, but Trump seems to emulate some of that. If DOGE actually delivers on its sales pitch, we'll make some headway in reducing our behemoth of a government.

Historians often favor statist leaders, which is why I don't put a lot of stock in historical rankings of leaders. Actual empathy toward the plight of the working class usually means keeping the government off of the backs of workers.

What you are saying is that by doing that many people that do depend on help from the government (and I do mean those that actually need the help to survive -not the ones taking advantage of the government) are going to suffer. They are Americans, you know?. What you are saying is "tough shit", you were born poor, your family could not help you with education, food for nutrition, or health assistance and as such, you are going to continue to suffer and likely die. Nonetheless, the economy will be better for the rest of Americans that were born under better conditions and did have abilities and everything needed to survive. We must think of them above thinking of you (the unlucky). Go away even though you are an American, right? They should be put aside and ignored, correct?

I have some skepticism regarding DOGE, because Trump isn't known for cutting entitlements. If you're worried that he will, I doubt it will happen to much degree. More than anything, DOGE seems to be sold as focusing on cutting out bureaucracy. That will be helpful in and of itself, however.

As for my own take on government dependency... Well, I do support a certain level of government aid. Because I'm firmly pro-life, I believe we need a robust system to aid single mothers. We need well-funded orphanages, and I'd support socialized childcare. I'd even support socialized healthcare to an extent if we mimicked the French system. When it comes to welfare, however, I prefer that to be very limited.

you rang Lucky?

I've been white trash in rural nowhere forever, how many stories would you like about what that's like, and how many of us pull ourselves up by our bootstraps VS being on the dole

See, you just can't get your head around a handout vs a handup

There is a difference.

We exist in a capitalist system, which made us the richest country on this rock

Not some socialist EBT card bernie sanders sociopaths

So yes, if you can't man up , feed the fam, etc because you're a LAZY f*ck, please, die, and do it quietly....

You do need to understand that nothing is ever perfect, don't you? There is always going to be some grift, unfair users, con men, etc. I do understand that fixing things to work better is the thing to do but Trump and the Far right are the extreme and that means that they are highly likely to do extreme stuff and once something gets broken, it is close to impossible to fix. Meaning that doing things slowly and carefully and getting everyone (on both sides) to work together is the best way.

That is not something that Trump has ever done or will ever do. I my be wrong but if I am not, our system will get totally broken and unfixable. Precaution is the way to do. Trump is NOT a believer in precaution

As I have stated may times before. ALL extremes are bad. Trump and the far right are extreme

The Milei route seems to be going quite well for Argentina. If Trump can mimic that, that's an "extreme" I'm ok with.

ok, so please describe (pertinent to YOUR thread OP), just what is extreme about Trump , his platform, his appointees , his direction you feel are 'extreme' .....BE SPECIFIC! ;)

Revenge on all did him harm, enemy within (Schumer and Pelosi) who he might have the military take them down, deporting ALL illegal aliens? raising tariffs on China 60%, Matt Gaetz as Attorney General (which even his own people think he is extreme), get rid of the FBI, over 40,000 lies, loyalty over competence and knowledge of the job choices

I can find more but isn't that enough specific examples?
