Zone1 What do Dems mean by their promises of “affordability”?

1) It’s not hundreds of billions. It’s about $3 or $4 billion a year. We spend more on the Arab countries, but no…..you focus on Da Joos.

2) This topic is about the lying Dems promising “affordability,” and then raising taxes in the working class. instituting delivery fees, and increasing the cost of gas. Yet somehow, you pivot to Da Joos, Da Joos!

You disgusting antisemite.

1. We spend money on Arab countries so they play nice with Israel. (We are practically propping up Jordan and Egypt) We also spend hundreds of Billions playing Hall Monitor in the Middle East.

2) You don't think the money we spend on perpetual war in the ME is affecting "Affordability"? Or do you just not care when it benefits people you like?

3) The working class pays more in taxes because the rich aren't paying their fair share. But the real problem is that most of what we are doing in on borrowed money. Going to really suck when the rest of the world stops buying our worthless t-bonds.

4) We don't spend nearly enough on poverty relief compared to other advanced countries. It's an embarrassment that the richest country in the world has so much grinding poverty (not just in the big cities, but in the rural areas).

The rich pay most of the taxes
50% of the population pays zero income taxes
Welfare is part of the largest fraud system we have look at Minn now. Democrats use welfare to bribe voters and get kickbacks

I liked my plan, I couldn't keep my plan.

You wouldn't have kept your plan, regardless.

Frankly, before ACA, what I remember was that every year, the fat HR Cow would get us into a meeting, and announce that this year, our insurance was going to cost more and cover less.

Every ******* year.

One year, this woman even boasted, "I'm so glad I'm on my husband's plan!!!" In front of a room of people who were relying on YOUR plan.

After ACA, we stopped having those meetings.

This is the first year where we started having those kinds of meetings again. Imagine that.

Antisemites like Joe will learn that when they see the results of “soak the rich” policies the Marxist in NY is putting forward. The rich will just leave, and the city will be left with ghetto rats and Islamists - and no money.

The rich pay nowhere near their fair share. The top 20% control 87% of the wealth. The top 1% controls 43% of the wealth. This is where the problem lies.

I couldn’t keep my plan OR my doctor.

You wouldn't have been able without ACA, either.

Frankly, I never had a problem keeping my doctor, before or after ACA. Now, keep in mind, I rarely see a doctor unless I am really sick.

Even changing employers and insurance plans in the last year, I've been able to keep the same doctor (who I had to choose because I needed a Mandarin-speaking doctor for my wife)

Soak the rich worked just fine before Ronald Reagan. I'd love to have the life my parents had, with good union medical benefits and good union pay.

Keeping them dependent on government handouts isn't caring about them.
Simple math. it's worked for years.
vote pyramid.webp

The government controls most of the wealth not the rich. They create your job.

The concern is that they will vote in Dem policies in their new states.

Yes, that is a concern when people realize that Republicans run things much, much worse.

Here is the dichotomy of American Politics. Biden, Obama, and Clinton all got in because Republicans fucked up the economy. I could even make the same argument about Carter, for that matter. (not to mention JFK and FDR). So will the next Democrat who will win in 2028, because the economy is going into the shitter again- no surprise.

Republicans get in when times are relatively good, but they are able to play on the Racial, religious, and sexual fears of the White middle class. Which is why they spent so much time talking about immigrants and transgender people in 2024. Fear of "the Other" is a strong motivator in American Politics.

In short, white people only care when bad policies affect them; the rest of the time, they are willing to be awful.

Population is shifting away from Democratic-led states, primarily California, New York, and Illinois, toward Republican-leaning states in the South and West, driven by factors like lower taxes, cheaper housing, and, warmer climates. Between 2020 and 2024, data indicates a significant, persistent movement of voters, with some projections suggesting blue states could lose over 10 House seats in the 2030 census.
Key details on population shifts:
  • Major Losses: California, New York, and Illinois are experiencing notable population decline or stagnation.
  • Key Destinations: Rapid growth is occurring in red states, with Texas and Florida projected to gain four House seats each, and others like Arizona and Utah gaining, following a decades-long trend.
  • Demographic Shift: Recent departures from California have shown a strong Republican lean (39% are Republican compared to 25% overall in the state).
  • Voter Registration Impact: In 30 tracked states, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in voter registration between 2020 and 2024, a shift affecting the political landscape.
  • Future Outlook: The shift could result in a loss of up to 12 seats for traditionally Democratic states in the next census, with California losing four and New York two.
Factors Driving the Shift
The migration is largely driven by a search for lower taxes, cheaper housing, and a lower cost of living, combined with a, desire for warmer climates and better job opportunities.
Impact on Political Power
The population shift, known as a "blue-to-red" migration, is significantly altering the electoral map. While some of these areas have been traditionally, Democratic, the migration trends suggest a, potential shift in the political balance.

Guy, you miss the point. People aren't moving because they really want to live next to Cleetus and Bubba. They are moving because big corporations are moving the jobs there because they can underpay the workers and pollute the environment.

So, yeah, people from Blue states will move there to chase those jobs (or just get away from shitty weather. -12 right now in Chicago. Ugh. )

But then they will eventually realize that Red State Politics aren't to their liking. Which is why once reliable Red states are now swing states.

The reasons are there, crime taxes rents homeless poor schools everything democrats create when they rule. Its so bad democrats will lose 15 seats in the next census. Its called voting with your feet

Okay, but all those things exist in the red states.

I have a good friend, an immigrant from the Philippines who is married to an American. Her husband moved the family down to SC for a job.

She hates living down there. The schools suck, and they have more crime than in the nice Chicago Suburb she had been living in.

By the time Trump is done tanking the economy and alienating women and minorities, the REpublicans are going to lose dozens of seats.
