According to them, they are saying the condition itself is not a mental illness. They are saying if transgenderism causes stress, it's the stress that is the mental illness. In other words, if someone is comfortable in their own skin, they have no mental illness which sounds right to me.?

Not exactly. Their claim is that homosexuality is a normal variant of human sexual orientation as opposed to a mental disorder. That's not the same thing as calling it normal. It's still considered to be an exception to normal, otherwise they wouldn't use the word "variant."

You are barking up the wrong tree. I don't believe people should have surgeries to change their gender. My objection to your posts is a very narrow and specific objection. Anyone who claims to have worked in the mental health field for 30 years should know what DSM-5 says.
