As Russia invades a neighbor, we are told that a democracy is in peril, and we should respond with great empathy as well as anger. Americans have good reason to be cynical about Ukraineā€™s true intolerant anti-democratic nature. It is not presented realistically by media in the United States. Ukraineā€™s government is not a fledgling democracy struggling to survive in the face of an attack by a communist dictatorship. It is falsely presented by American mass media as a democracy like the US when in fact it is an authoritarian state. This is not to say that the people of Ukraine deserve what has happened. But US support of Ukraine should never be predicated on support of an autocratic government headed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a corrupt dictator in his own right.

The US is coming as close to nuclear conflict with Russia as it was in 1962. Americans are being played by Washington and fellow traveling mass media to push Vladimir Putin into using chemical and nuclear weapons. Our current leadership in Washington regards Ukraine as a model for what it wants for the United States. Zelenskyy has banned all opposing political parties and has combined all media into a state-controlled information cartel. If this sounds familiar, American voters are still reeling from a stolen presidential election and the president they voted for has been banned from many social media platforms.

What does build back better mean? Before the election we had low gas prices, affordable housing, well stocked grocery shelves, and were independent energy producers. Now we are facing historical inflation, skyrocketing murder rates and possible nuclear war. Americans may want to examine the rubble of Ukraine and realize that this may be what Washington wants for us as they build back better. Washington regards opposing opinions as a threat to its plans just like Zelenskyy sees television stations and news outlets that oppose him as colluders with Russia. Remember that last election? Sound familiar again? Colluding with Russia could be heralded by historians as the downfall of real democracy in our time.

The people of Ukraine are not responsible for their demise, and we should sympathize with them. But their suffering could be part of a global plan to stamp out democracy in the west as an obstacle to world government. Politicians in Washington will go to underground shelters protected from radiation if intercontinental ballistic missiles are launched. You and your children will be long dead as they re-emerge to build back better. Isnā€™t this a fine kettle of fish? We should have seen it coming after that last election in the US. Does anyone seriously believe we would facing this disaster if our last election had been valid?

Can we fix this? We damn well better or itā€™s over.

All is lost when......

You have a population which simply forfeits it's responsibility to make sacrifices to defend freedom and human rights.
The future is lost because the present generation did nothing.

The Founding Fathers sacrifices and those of all who died in WW1 and WW2 are now in vain.
While the West fell asleep, drunk on material gains the enemy crept in and stabbed freedom through the heart.

How did a a former comedian/actor become president if it's not a democracy?

Our last election was valid. And yes, if Trump would have stolen the election this all still would be happening.

And if you are saying Putin doesn't like Biden and prefers Trump, isn't that an argument for Biden?

How did a a former comedian/actor become president if it's not a democracy?

Youā€™re talking about Reagan. To answer the question, back then the country was reeling from overdoses of leftism. That brought us Reagan.

Our corrupt potus and central government can fix this overnight. Just agree no NATO for Ukraine and recognize the independence of the Donbass and Crimeaā€¦all states with overwhelming majority of Russians.

Done Deal war over.

However this wonā€™t happen. The powers-that-be want war with Russia and since they are crazed psychopaths, they donā€™t give a shit if this results in nuclear war.

Be careful what you wish for:

Is the USA a liberal democracy? I don't think so. I think if you look at our fucked up system of gerrymandering and electoral college votes and having Republican governors in charge of their states election process, you'll find we aren't that liberal either.

So you're saying the Ukranians are like the Iraqis? They need a dictator to keep them in check?

And who is fightingfakenews?

If this is all theater, ask yourself why they have staged this war. Who's it benefiting? The GOP before the midterm?

Ukraine is not a shining example of democracy

so what?

its still an independent country being illegally invaded by a foreign power

Ukraine was lost they day nobody decided to insert troops. The whole Let's Not Escalate thing is a well-dressed We Don't Really Care That Much thing.

If Russia committed a coup in Canada and installed a dictatorship friendly to Russia and planned to place Russian nuclear armaments and military personnel along the US border while refusing any compromise or negotiations, how would you expect our government to respond?

Very true. Nothing we can really do about it above and beyond what we already are doing. Now Trump supporters may be suggesting Trump would have sent troops to take on Putin or call his bluff. Is that what people are saying?

I also hear pro Putin Republicans suggesting Ukraine isn't the liberal democracy we think it is. As if we are. LOL.

The hypocrisy by some Americans is enormous. This war certainly has exposed it, yet many still deny it.

Our government invades nations with impunity, yet many Americans support this while condemning Russiaā€˜s invasion and calling Putin a war criminal. Is not W and O war criminals?

And to think the US is protecting democracy by going to war when we donā€™t have democracy at home, is further evidence of hypocrisy.

If Trump had remained in office, there would have been no invasion of Ukraine. Trump's mistrust and criticism of Nato would have given Putin no reason to fear he was being surrounded. Putin did not just decide to take Ukraine out of the blue. He was manipulated into it by Washington after it had successfully gotten rid of Trump.

Theres a big problem with that Raymond. Don hardened Oā€™s sanctions on Russia, allowed war games along Russiaā€™s border by NATO, and sold massive amounts of armaments to Eastern European nations. He was actively trying to sabatage Russiaā€™s efforts to sell energy to western Europe.

When will the media talk about Bidenā€˜s being compromised

We are lied to just like Russians are lied to. I'm sure Putin is telling them

a. They have WMD's
b. He's a ruthless evil dictator
c. He's a facist/commy/socialist/capitalist (whatever ISM Russians dislike the most
d. He's committing attrocities against his own people
e. He steals elections
f. We need to fight them there so we don't have to fight them here
g. This is for FREEDOM
h. Mother Russia

Why did we go to the Korean War, Vietnam?

The only thing I'm not against MAYBE is taking out terrorists in the Muslim world. But even that. As long as they aren't bothering us. But they might send sleeper cells to the USA. But then, if we take them out because we don't like them, maybe that will be the REASON they come attack us. Maybe we need to leave them alone too.

And then do we want China to start policing the world? Or maybe we need to take the UN more seriously and organize an international army that collectively can take out China or Russia or even us if we/they get out of line.

The UN should have had the power to tell us NO when we invaded Iraq.
