Zone1 What are 'traditional American values'?

An easy accusation to make if you don't have to produce any evidence to back it up. Got any?

Which government doesn't have viable oversight? Most school funding is local, here in VA very little money comes from the Feds and that is generally used for immigrants, the poor, and the disabled. The school administrators I've talked to here believe the money is being well spent.
"The school administrators I've talked to here believe the money is being well spent."

Of course they do. :rolleyes-41:

"Which government doesn't have viable oversight?"
SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, and Welfare for starters.

Oh, thanks for the reminder.

The youth today have 20 years of experience in life, cannot balance a checkbook, but are experts in complicated world economics.
Most 20-year-olds when we were 20 couldn't balance a checkbook.

not well spent in California....top 5 to bottom 5....

Zone One everybody so keep it civil.

What's wrong with American youth these days? Many believe it is because we have taken basic American values away from them.

Another school shooting, more vandalism/destructiveness, more general lawlessness, more anti-American demonstrations and attacks on Jews, Christians, others who are easy targets. These are young people who hate their skin, want to change the gender they were born, who exalt the worst our society produces and despise those promoting pro-American ideas. Too many have become lawless, violent, destructive, dangerous, murderous.

So what is the solution? Many, myself included, believe it is because American culture and basic American values are being dismantled and there is nothing positive and good to inspire the young, encourage positive, constructive thinking, appreciate the bright future their country offers.

Many of us believe we should return to allowing prayer, or at least a moment of silence, in school, make God welcome again, promote recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem and appreciation/love for the flag and the free, noble, great Nation it represents.

Also, what kids need is summed up in this piece I saw at another site--author unknown:

"What are we missing? What do children need?" He went on and on about mental illness, the Juvenile Justice System, gun control, education reform, blah, blah, blah.

Folks, none of that mumbo jumbo makes a lick of sense. Here is what children need:
1. Children need a mother and a father who love each other and work together as a team.
2. Children need a bicycle, neighbors, and cousins.
3. Children need a grandma to bake with and a grandpa to take em fishing.
4. Children need a church, a Sunday School Class, and a truth telling Preacher.
5. Children need a dinner time with home cooked food, prayer, and conversation.
6. Children need Sunday afternoon football and fried chicken.
7. Children need books to read and coloring pages.
8. Children need summers at the beach and bazooka bubble gum.
9. Children need a trip to Arlington and Fourth of July Fireworks.
10. Children need fire pits, smores, ghost stories, the drive in, and real popcorn.
11. Children need discipline from their parents.
12. Children need chores, a job, a way to earn what they want.
13. Children need education that recognizes mama and daddy as the authority, God as the creator, and the Bible as the roadmap.
This is not about some agenda, this is about children. Get back to basics: faith, family, & good ole fashioned fun.

In other words, basic traditional American values.
.

I saw something that children need a week ago when I took flowers to my husband's grave at the VA Cemetery. I saw a mother teaching something very important to her three children. She was teaching them that Memorial day is far more than a day off. They were scrubbing every headstone there.

I had to assume that she taught them something else very important, because they all looked very fit, and were polite and engaging when I thanked them for their hard work taking care of the graves of American Veterans.

American Dream.

I do...I'm tired boss !

People can go around and say men can have babies...it is one thing but when the MSM repeats it as fact...we are lost !
But the majority of people are rejecting the false propaganda put out by a dishonest and malicious media. There is hope that we will reach a tipping point on that and the profit motive, if nothing else, will turn that around and we'll actually have a free and honest press again.

I can appreciate being tired, frustrated, fed up, ready to give up. But somewhere in all of us can be found a spark of hope that keeps us going and, when appropriate, keeps us fighting. I hope you find yours my friend.

Amen and amen. I would bet at least a cup of coffee and a good donut that those kids were also homeschooled. I am seeing a whole different breed of kids, in a very good way, among the homeschooled here.

Yes, the false propaganda of the right-wing media is being rejected.

I hope so !

I'd tell you my situation but I hate to see a grow man / woman cry.

I wish I had thought to ask the woman. I'd bet that's the case.

We had a president that fell UP steps because he is out of his mind and the satanic LIB press covers for him.

.CNN: This was a every day bike accident that could happen to anyone and no the President is not senile !

If it wasn't being well spent, they would be the first to object.

None of those have anything to do with education.

besides the monetary aspects, the feds make sure every child has fundamental rights to an equal education on all levels.
Even if that was true I wouldn't want to advertise it since in so many cases "Johnny" can't read. (Or do math. Or understand the most basic fundamentals of science. Etc.)

The problem is that the American Dream requires effort.

The youth today want it all handed to them and think that their getting all this stuff is for the benefit of all society.

It is a strange and frightening worldview they promote and believe in.

1. They don't want to work 40 hours a week, because that doesn't give them time to chase their own personal interests.
2. They want a free education so that they can make the maximum $$ right out of college. Not to benefit a company or a nation but to benefit a lifestyle that lets them travel the world and attend to their hedonistic needs.
3. They want to be able to buy a 1 million dollar home right out of college and do NOT want to put in any effort from highschool to adulthood to plan their financial goals. It should just happen for them.

And the biggie.

They want to do what they want to do, and they DO NOT want to have to pay for any of it.

Guess where they learn all of this absolute, childish nonsense?
You should charge a cover for that sort of comedy.

"Hedonistic needs...." LOL. ..
