The government has been telling us that the unemployment rate is like 5% and that would be great news but that is only for people who have been looking for work in the last two weeks. What about people who are out of work and have been out of work for a year? They still need money to live just like everyone else. The question is do they exist at all and if so how are they managing to survive without working?

You ought to know that there's a huge 'gray market economy' hiding in plain site.
I know people who haven't worked at a job which requires them to pay income tax for decades.
They are 'living large'. All the toys and holidays and beautiful homes and new Escalades. You name it.
They don't pay fuck all in income taxes.
They are the guys who you see going past in plain white delivery vans. LOL LOL!

People learn to live with LESS income....or their husband's income only, or their wife's income only.

with odd jobs to add to the spouse's income.

That's what we did, when I first stopped working....lived off of the Hubby's income only.....a tough road, have to give up a lot of things like new cars every few years and no Caribbean or Hawaii vacations anymore, no new clothes bought every week...no eating out at nice restaurants 3 times a week....

You completely change your life and become minimalists!!!!
