While tariffs are technically a tax on imports, they can indirectly burden exporters by increasing the cost of goods for foreign buyers, potentially leading to reduced demand and export losses

I think it's fair to guess that this will only end when Trump has (what he thinks is) an out of some kind. Most likely, that would be a few countries dropping their tariffs and he claims massive, awesome victory.

Then all the Trumpsters will claim victory, of course, even if the result is nothing near America returning to being a global manufacturing powerhouse that Trump promised. They'll forget that part, as usual.

But this will end when his profoundly brittle ego can handle it. The only question is how much damage will be done between now and then.
