The simple way of dealing with countries putting tariffs on you, is to put tariffs back that are similar.

But Trump isn't doing that. Trump goes crazy, doesn't seem to understand what each country's tariffs are doing and why.

Also, you want manufacturing, the US needs to decide what type of manufacturing it wants. Low paid manufacturing like in China? But that'd just make a lot of people poorer, or the products would cost to much. High end manufacturing? You need the education system to move with that, Germany's education system has technical schools and then universities that are pumping out students who can work in high tech manufacturing.

Trump isn't even bothering with that.

So what does he want? I doubt he even knows.

Stop putting tarrifs on American goods.
