Whites destroyed black culture. They then systematically suppressed any attempts by black people to rise. Culture is birthright, and once it's destroyed you have destroyed a person's greatest asset.

There was never a "Black culture" There were many different, competing cultures. Some had been advanced at some point in history, but with the exception of Ethiopia and Somalia, sub-Saharan Africans didn't even use the wheel before Europeans arrived.
I'm not going to get into a slavery debate here, but African Americans have it so much better than they would have had they had no contact with other races.
Black culture.... We saw it Sunday at half time.... and later at the press conference.

There is no such thing as "white culture" either. It's just a convenient shorthand.

Tribal culture was what it was. More advanced? Obviously not. Were the people living happier, albeit shorter, lives? Who can say? The point is, they were adapted to the place they lived, and had cultural continuity. Birthright. That's how parents teach their children how to survive in the world.

What culture have the blacks in America developed? Contradictory. Muddled. On the one hand, they produced the most dominant musical developments of the twentieth century. African visual arts was a primary influence on the visual art of that time. Now? What is the rich black culture like? The middle class black culture? The working class black culture? I don't know. You never hear about these people, although they're 75% of the black population. You only hear about the most dysfunctional 25%, the ones still mired in poverty. They're the ones who suffer most from their loss of birthright. It's really strange that the dominant black culture comes from that slice of the populace.
