The Southern aristocracy DIDN'T adhere to "white culture". They were more in line with European aristocrats.

That's a fact. The aristocracies of Britain and France supported the southern cause. The only aristocracy that supported the North was Catherine the Great, who herself was greatly influenced by Enlightenment values, instituting reforms for the people.
