Elected officials representing the will of the people. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
No stupid. It doesn't. At all. I'm literally rolling on the floor over your stupidity right now.

If the "will" of the "people" was to execute all black people and assholes with the screen name "Bulldog" and they elected people who were willing to do that, would that be ok? Would that be legal? Constitutional?

You truly are a very special kind of stupid, BD.

Businesses have used lobbyists to push laws to reduce protections and wages for workers forever. Are you saying it's fine when owners do it, but not when workers do it?
No. What we're saying is that you have an IQ of about 27. And you talk out of your ass. You've literally never read the U.S. Constitution and yet you're sitting here trying to claim how government works. :eusa_doh:

Sure it is. If the workers elect officials that further their interests, that's exactly the way out election system is supposed to work.
That's so stupid, only you could come up with it.
  1. That "system" is our political system, idiot. The free market is our economic system. Dumb ass.
  2. Even our political system doesn't work that way. We have something called the "U.S. Constitution". You know, that thing you hate? It prevents the exact stupidity you are claiming right now. Dumb ass.

There is nothing unconstitutional about electing pro worker representatives, even if you wish it was.

Oh you poor little dumb snowflake. The U.S. Constitution explicitly restricts the federal government to 18 enumerated powers and telling private business owners how much they must pay their employees is not one of those powers.

Nit pickey, aren't you? Of course all our laws need to be constitutional, but that doesn't preclude electing pro worker representatives any more than it precludes pro rich people representatives.

Calm down Boo Boo. I know your natural inclination is to go for an insult when you're shown to be an idiot, but you can do better than that if you try.

How many fast food workers are adults?
Half of fast-food workers are 23 or older.
And your point would be....???? It's a FREE market. Nobody forced them to work there. They chose it. They felt the compensation was fair.

And now they don't, and they are working to change that. That's how the free market works.

We're talking about people who have to feed their families and put a roof over their heads.
Then they shouldn't work an entry-level job designed for a 14 year old, dumb ass.

Those jobs are mostly held by adults, and they are entitled to be treated fairly. What you think about that doesn't matter.

How are they not treated fairly? I'm selling my car for $15,000. You agree to buy my car for $15,000. How were you treated unfairly?

Only one of us thinks that the people can elect representatives to do absolutely anything, and it sure as hell isn't me.

Government forcing companies to pay a wage they approve of is not pro-worker, it's dictatorship or at the very least, Socialism.

You should write a letter to the supreme court. I'm sure nobody ever considered whether minimum wage was constitutional

If you think it's the same situation, you are mistaken.

Like I said, you should write a letter to the supreme court. I'm sure they will get right on that.
