A failing state: California loses an Icon

This won't be a problem for them. All they have to do is raise taxes on everyone who doesn't leave the state.

Which is, of course, the actual goal of this legislation. Even the retards who run California know that billionaires are the most mobile of all Americans, and can easily relocate anywhere they want, at any time.

The "billionaire" part of this law is just bait for the rubes (and it worked, of course). The real targets are the middle and working classes, who will pay for it when the billionaires leave.

In and Out is welcome here in Pa. but I don't think Pa. is a flamboyant enough spot.
LOL, In and Out is far from being flamboyant. It is about as basic a hamburger joint as there is--but all of the ingredients are fresh. They are expanding into Nashville, TN and Couer d'Alene, ID and those cities don't usually come to mind when that word is tossed around.

Many cities in CA have filed in the past two decades.

Benicia and San Bernadino being some of the more high profile.
CA has a 'balanced budget' amendment and currently has an $18B deficit. LOL, they should give more money to the homeless and illegal immigrants.

Yet you support the policies and politicians that created it. 🤡
Don't be a worthless MAGA douche. I have nothing to do with California. You're just pissed, I am anti-Trump, anti-Maga, and still supporting and speaking in favor of adherence to the Constitution, rule of law, divisions of power, and legitimate oversight by a congress not living in fear of a rogue President. I have nothing to do with California, and we Independent voters are not responsible for the mess, there or in Washington.

^^
California didn't know when enough was enough. They kept tightening the vice around In-N-Out Burger. As the article says, it wasn't one single thing, but a number of factors, and finally, a 2026 proposed 5% "one time" money grab of billionaire's money, was enough. The company is moving out and so is the billionaire who runs it.

The nanny state needs ever increasing amounts of money to keep going (read: money to re-distribute to its voting base - illegal immigrants, welfare collectors, and leftists). As long as that money flow stays intact, the government stays in power. That's a win for them, but a loss for middle class people.

This is failed liberalism. We aren't yet in the bottom of the 9th inning (that will be when you see one of these blue cities or states file bankruptcy and not get bailed out). But the game is moving along, we've reached the 7th inning stretch. Go get your popcorn and beer.
What about Florida?

It's up to the American people to show up and vote this November. Vote out all those Republicans.

What if Americans are Notsee MAGA in November and they win again? I guess this is the new America. I'm not going to riot or even protest. Unless the elections are rigged. Hell, even then I'm not going to do anything about it because America already handed itself over to the corporations a long long time ago and no one even has a clue. I actually give up. I'm 55. Too old to care as much. LOL.
