You and I define racism differently - to be racist doesn't require power. It's about attitude and behavior.

I believe if all black folks had to endure in their first 200 or so years after the first colonial settlers got here were "attitudes" and "behavior" -- they would have very much preferred that racism over the racism they endured....the racism that had force of power behind it....

The racism that allowed others to rape, beat and murder minorities with the confidence that there would be no "force of power" there to stop them -- in fact, that force of power would be there to protect them and further perpetuate it...

This is why racism without power is basically an old guy yelling at things.....but when power uses laws in order to appease that old guy and enshrine his hatred with force of law......then we have a serious problem....

Protest is one thing but when you riot and kill people and injure innocent people like Reginald Denny and torch your city you have done a major race riot.

get out and protest and fight it out in the courts, not the streets.

in the film LA 92 it is clear that Rodney King was treated terribly by the police, it’s clear that the Korean woman shot a young black girl in the head. Horrible incidents. But the riots that followed are UN justified. South Central LA has not recovered from that and the residents are worse off than ever. It is a gut wrenching film.
