Weak 14: Empty Seats Outnumber Fans in Many NFL Stadiums

This is NOT a pregame photo – you can see players on the sideline. And, for those who aren’t squeamish, this article has dozens of Tweets that show lots of empty seats and a lot of different games.

The Buffalo Bills said they had 59,119 spectators at New Era Field on Sunday (capacity 71,870 seat maximum) when the New York Jets came to town. Some thought that estimate seemed high when looking at the empty seats.

The Cleveland Browns also announced their crowd size — 59,392 at FirstEnergy Stadium (capacity 67,895) — as the Browns bested the Carolina Panthers in a 26-20 final. But some photos seemed to show a lot of empty seats:

Many, many more @ Weak 14: Empty Seats Outnumber Fans in Many NFL Stadiums

So what you're saying is, attendance at NFL games is like attendance at one of Bill and Hillary's tour stops...

Maybe the NFL should follow their lead and start selling tickets through Groupon...

We use to be a family of NFL fans. Occasionally went to a Bucs game. Watched the games on TV with the excessive commercials. Bought NFL logo stuff for gifts, etc. The whole nine yards.

However, now the NFL is dead to us. Nothing at all. No games, no TV, no merchandise.

Many of our friends feel the same way.

They really fucked themselves by letting the Jungle Monkeys get out of control.

"Jungle Monkeys"? But the players shouldn't be protesting against bigotry?

Yeah, that makes total sense. But tell me this, did you start boycotting for patriotic reasons or because you got called out?

That must have been difficult for you given your abject racism...

They didn't know you existed before your feeble boycott, they certainly don't miss you now...

Many of our friends feel the same way.

What, do you and your friends "discuss" the issue by the light of a burning cross each week?

They really fucked themselves by letting the Jungle Monkeys get out of control.

Why don't you just crawl back under that rock from whence you came...

What? Let me tell you something, bub. You’re going to find racists in every group, including blacks. If it’s bigotry against blacks these players are protesting then the platform to which they choose to protest is highly inappropriate to say the least. Let’s be honest - these “protests” are nothing but misdirected rage against an American establishment that has given them so much.

Any body here understand foot ball? Wanna understand empty seats you will find a direct correlation with the teams records.

exactly.Looks like he forgot to check the dolphins record, this is not the day and age when Dan Marino or Bob Griese had the dolphins in the playoffs year after year and made a few superbowls as well.:abgg2q.jpg:

Last time i checked all those teams seen in those pics except the chargers ,all had losing seasons.:haha: oh and thats REALLY getting desperate showing pics of the CHARGERS,a team that relocated to LA that NOBODY in LA wants and all the charger fans in san diego have moved on and dont support them anymore.:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::laughing0301::laughing0301::laughing0301::laughing0301::laughing0301::laughing0301:

There are only a few teams out there where the fans have such loyalty to the team they show up win or lose like Green Bay,Denver,Seattle,Chicago,Minnesota,Oakland.thats about it where the fans show up no matter what the record is.:lmao: winning changes everything EXCEPT for the CHARGERS of course,a team nobody in LA wants.:lmao::laughing0301:

So LOSING teams d LOSING teams like the Browns,Dolphins,Bucs and Bills having empty seats now that IS correct but those are all losing teams so whats the point? you have none.

Everybody knows the tampa bay bucs,a horrible team has horrible attendance problems so tell us something we all DONT know.:abgg2q.jpg:

.:rolleyes::rofl::lmao::laughing0301:

How long are networks going to be paying that much, when it is clear the league is actively driving away fans?

As long as they are making money.

According to this link: The NFL gets some good news. Its TV ratings are up. - CNN the rating are up. An average of 15.6 million viewers.

And this link: Ratings success for Week 14 of the NFL season says ratings are up for Week 14 to highs not seen since late 2016.

And every time some asshole kneels during the anthem, it is a fresh insult to every fan.

This little spike, might be the worst thing for the League, giving them the false idea that this is past.

If you choose to be insulted because athletes are protesting against racism (their perception), that is not anyone's problem but yours.

Every American is insulted when some one insults the symbol of the nation as a whole.

Some Americans are anti-American enough to not care.

Some Americans recognize that not everyone sees thinks the way they do.

Some Americans decide that anyone who doesn't agree with them must be anti-American.

Some Americans do not have to prove their patriotism via hostility and hate.

No, when you insult the symbol of a thing, you are insulting that thing.

You can save your bs about hate for someone more gullible than me.

It seems that it's only the ignorant Little Trumpsters who easily fell for Trump's obvious racist analogy that are all pissed off..
Nike Sales Increase 31% After Kaepernick Ad Despite Backlash

What "racist" analogy?

You asshole.

Oh boy, another easily manipulated Little Trumpster and probably just another small-minded racist.
People who actually looked up to why the kneeling occurs, knows that the kneeling is a symbolic prayer in regards to protest police brutality and racial inequality in the United States and is an act of Freedom of Speech.
Kneeling is much better than raising a clenched fist during the anthem, now that is an act of defiance.

1. You can shove your race baiting up your ass, you piece of shit.

2. Kneeling when standing is done to show respect, is obviously an expression of disrespect.

3. And if there were any doubt about that, and there is not, the leader of this little movement was kind enough to verbally state that his intent was to NOT show respect to the nation.

4. YOu are a moron and an asshole.

When has the man, who's ass your face is buried in, ever get as agitated about White Supremacists and Neo Nazis, as he has about Black athletes kneeling?
Man, I am absolutely thrilled I am not you. Also, please don't have children.
Now put on your cute little sheet and prance around your trailer park.

White supremacists are an irrelevant fringe. Sports heroes are not. That you pretend not to know this, makes you a liar.

YOu can also shove your homophobic slurs, up you ass, you asshole.

AND you can also shove up there, your race baiting bullshit. And sit on them both. Faggot.

If you want to require patriotism, go ahead. That is a sure sign of a despicable totalitarian regime.

And my comment about hate is not BS. On the contrary, it is spot on.

The protest is aimed at the injustices against blacks by the gov't. That is the symbol they are attacking. But you can listen to whomever you want.

What I find most amusing is your claim that anyone who doesn't agree with you is anti-American.

Odd that you don't seem to want to take issue with the poster calling them "Jungle Monkeys".

so the ONE pic of a WINNING team you show us the Chargers,a team that nobody in LA wants and everybody in san diego has stopped supporting since they deserted them for LA,thats your case that the NFL has empty stadiums for a team that is WINNING? all the other pics you showed are all teams that are crappy teams that have losing record so what do you expect?:abgg2q.jpg:

oh and DO try and keep up around here WHY the chargers are bombing so badly with empty seats.:laughing0301::lmao::iyfyus.jpg::rolleyes:

this link here of mine explains that in vivid detail.

The Chargers are nobodys team in the NO FAN LOYALTY LEAGUE.

The point went over your head. I conceded there is white racism. So what? There’s black racism, too? The person who started these protests did so because he views that blacks are being unlawfully killed by police. Don’t you think the venue is a tad bit inappropriate? And no I don’t believe we have a problem with police murdering blacks as a societal problem

Just don't like rich Jungle Monkey assholes being shitheads.

Ticket sales are only a minor part of the money each team makes.

And whether the seats are empty isn't the issue. It is whether the seats are paid for. Which do you think a team would rather have, 71,000 fans getting in for free? Or 71,000 fans paying $250 for a ticket and not showing up?

If the stadium in the OP sells out, at $250 per ticket, that equals just under $18 million in revenue. Fox is paying the NFL $60 million for each game they broadcast.

They protest at games to get a reaction

Well, they got one.

Now everyone is happy.

Live and let live

I think the NFL can make money without fans coming to see games. Who needs the fans?

"Weak 14" could be rephrased as weak thinking. The absolutely absurd proportions that American football took on (and is true about other inhumanly distorted 'sports') was bound to decline sometime; reason doesn't wait forever. That the reasons are racist is lamentable.
Racism is an insult to humanity.
