Progressives loathe balance of power. We tried to warn them that they would regret it once Republicans were in control again. That didn't take long to happen.

“Any attempt by Republicans to have a series of rushed, truncated hearings before Inauguration Day and before the Congress and public have adequate information on all of them is something Democrats will vehemently resist,” new Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Monday in a statement to The Washington Post.

Why Democrats Have Few Options

Democrats don’t have the numbers to outright defeat Trump nominees, thanks to a procedural change they made when they last controlled the Senate.

Republicans need a simple majority of 51 votes to move to confirm the president’s Cabinet appointments, rather than the supermajority of 60 previously required, and they have 52 seats. In addition, incoming Vice President Mike Pence will have the power to break any tie votes.

Democrats’ requirement of only a simple majority to avoid a filibuster and put a confirmation to a floor vote, or advance other business, is known on Capitol Hill as “the nuclear option.”

“They have tied their own hands on this,” Heritage Foundation procedural expert Rachel Bovard said of the Democrats, “and because of ‘going nuclear,’ essentially they have put every … nominee at a 51-vote threshold and there’s 52 Republicans.”

Unlike With Obama, Democrats Stall Trump Cabinet Picks

Remember when the republican minority said that they would do everything they could to make sure that Obama could not succeed?

We remember.

Don't be too disheartened yet. Trump & his supporters have made a lot of Republican enemies, especially in the Senate. They've called them names, insulted them, cheered Trump on when he was making up outrageous lies about them, and they may have had enough. Mitch McConnell states they would dump Trump like a hot rock. John McCain was horribly insulted, not a war hero, even though he was captured and tortured for 5 years. Ted Cruz was called a liar a thousand times over, and his wife and father were assaulted with vicious conspiracy theories and lies. Little Marco Rubio comments, and Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul has a very foul opinion of Trump and company. So while they realistically have a minor majority in the senate, it may really be 51 minus 6 or 7.

With this Russian hacking of the election, this is really the most bipartisanship we have seen since 9/11. All Senators agree that Russia did it. We aren't seeing the typical democrat versus Republican, but more of a Republican/Democrat against Donald Trump--LOL

IOW--Donald Trump may have been the catalyst to bring Republicans & Democrats together on a lot of these cabinet picks. They now have a common enemy and his name is Comrade Trump.

Graham: 99 percent of senators believe Russia interfered in election

99% of Senators realize that the cancer known as progressivism is exponentially more of a threat to the U.S. than Russia.

You have to remember oreo - conservatives are not petty and immature like progressives. They don't give a shit what Trump said about them. They are there to do a job for their constituents.

Ignore reality all you want chief - you're screwed. We warned you the "nuclear option" would come back to haunt you in a BIG way. That time is now.
