The problem with Medicare for all, is that Medicare does not pay the full cost of health care.
The irony of Medicare for All is that gullible progressives think it will remove insurance company profits from the equation. Medicare does the opposite. A lot of people mistakenly think of Medicare as government run insurance. It's not. Medicare farms out insurance to the same companies that you're dealing with now. The only difference between Medicare and private insurance is that the government pays for it, rather than your employer.
This is crap just like everything from these mental generous's .
That was not quite English.
Reality is, Medicare operates through insurance companies. Insurance companies get paid a fairly decent profit, to process medicare claims.
In fact, we have insurance companies here in Ohio, that ONLY process medicare claims, because essentially you get to make a good profit from just pushing papers around.
In 2011 or so, I remember a fuss over an insurance company, I believe in New York that wanted to increase premiums more than in years. This was a political cry, because Obama care falsely promised to reduce health insurance premiums (a ridiculous claim at face value. when has government actually reduced the cost of anything? Only moron would believe that).
The company was pointing out they were losing money on insurance policies because of Obama Care requirements.
The left-wingers pointed out they posted higher than ever profits.
The problem was, the company was losing money on their private insurance polices that they actually had to pay for.
The higher profits were from the increased load of expanded Medicaid and Medicare.
Medicare will make the super wealthy insurance companies, even more wealthy and filthy rich, for two reasons. One, they don't have to compete. Competition in the market forces down profits, because there is always someone who will offer a lower price to the public, for a smaller profit margin.
With Medicare and Medicaid, there is no competition.
Second, the company doesn't have to pay for care. They just collect the profits from processing Medicare and Medicaid claims. They are not putting out a penny for health care themselves. They just stamp the paperwork, and file it with government.
