We can compete with china in manufacturing

The Chinese are beating us because they are smart and we are ******* stupid as shit.
We enabled them. We had the rust belt before China even begun to be a world player. And we made it worse.

Chinese factories produce high-quality products at reasonable prices.
In some cases yes

Western companies taught them how to do it

Harbor Freight for instance no longer sells junk tools

So I give credit to the the chinese for being good students

But I want to put that racket out of business

Why will the salary go up if you end the program?
Supply and demand

No foreign H1b scabs to fill jobs for less pay

That means higher salaries for Americans

And that means ever FEWER engineers necessary to support the manufacturing plants you’re so desperate to see built.

So how does that help you accomplish your goal?

If we need more engineers lets find them in friendly nations not china

And make sure that they paid prevailing wages that do not undercut American workers

Yeah, here's the thing. I would bet on a bunch of motivated Chinese over a bunch of Bubba Rednecks from Jesusland any day of the week.

Now, with all that said, there are less manufacturing jobs everywhere. Most manufacturing jobs weren't outsourced, they were replaced by Automation and Process Improvement.

I worked for a company that eventually sent all the MFG jobs to Malaysia. Long before that happened, though, they perfected how to do the process with as few people as possible.

Oh, most of the people we had on the MFG floor? Mostly women from India and Mexico. A few Poles.

Now, the scary thing for white folks who never wanted to work on that factory floor is that AI is coming for their office jobs.

So you want to increase the supply for engineers by dipping into non-Chinese countries. Okay, fine.

But then what happens to the “prevailing wages”? It goes back down.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I see that all you have are crude insults toward Americans

Thats sick

The video points out that we can lower the cost of raw materials in several ways including energy production

And mining

But even if America matches china in the cost of raw materials there is still the issue of labor costs

China pays much less for workers than America pays

The chinese standard of living is lower than ours

Some misguided people here will say that American workers should make less

And/or that we need cheap migrant labor from the 3rd World

But I reject that idea

We need tariffs that close the unfair advantage that china enjoys

We have years, decades of regulatory review and spend trillions on defense and interest on the debt. We can’t compete until we address that

Cmon man. Think a little.

Why will the salary go up if you end the program?

Fewer engineers to hire.

That stimulates more people to go into engineering.

Then what happens?

Salary goes back down and you have exactly the same number of engineers.

It’s already a shortage of engineers. This is what the salary looks like when there’s a shortage.
We never had to do this before.

In the case of defense we probably dont spend enough

Hold on, now, most of the people on welfare are already working for $10.00 an hour at Starbucks or McDonalds. You are just subsidizing their workforce through welfare.

Manufacturing actually takes a certain level of skill.

China invested in those skills. We did not. This is why they are winning.
Bullshit. Those bums do t work at all.

No. We can't. Manufacturing requires cheap labor. That's why 100,000 manufacturing jobs have been lost since Trump took office.

Biden tried to fix that with the Inflation Reduction Act, that put the money in place for infrastructure rebuilding, and renewable energy projects, that were starting to create millions of new jobs, that was benefitting red states more than anyplace else.

Trump destroyed that. He actually believes imposing the largest tax increase on America in history, which is what tariffs are, will somehow magically create manufacturing jobs, which has blown up in his face.

China has the largest gold, silver, copper, and rare earth mineral deposits in the world. Indonesia comes in second on gold, and silver, followed by Greenland on rare earth mineral deposits. With the need for more electrical energy than anything else, copper is becoming a more valuable commodity.

Canada has more untapped mineral resources than we do. Trump is being given bad advice that he can take these resources by force, which is what he attempted to do in Venezuela today with their oil.

He's getting ready to find out just how bad that advice was.
lol suuuure

WTF? Are you kidding me?

We have too many bases home and abroad. The foreign bases are a combination of tripwires and CIA operations hubs

We fund a secret space program that certainly has technologies that could drop energy costs to near zero, but they’re kept secret.

He doesn’t care.
