The case for the US being more than just a nation is very strong...but....because it has not been officially proclaimed otherwise you will have those who are displeased.

The term "Empire" when spouted from the demented LEFT is ripe with ignorance whether fake, or real. The Marshall Plan was the antithesis of any empirical events in history before then.
