Exams are the problem. Students cram for them and soon forget the material they get credit for learning. Quiz daily instead.

A typical example was when an honors class averaged 92 on its final exam. When they came back from summer vacation, they were surprised by the same test. Their more revealing score on the repeat exam
averaged 65.

You might con your terrifying but gullible 6 year-olds that way, but try to pull that more than once with high-schoolers and they will laugh and blow their noses with the homework.

Ai is here, and it's not going away. It's up to us to learn how to use it to our advantage. If AI eliminates the need to learn so much of what college has always taught, that allows us to tackle more complex problems. The key is learning to use AI as a tool instead of a crutch.
