We are experiencing the biggest scandal in America's political history right now.

The answer to that question is NO...that search warrant allowed them to take anything related to any of the four years Trump was in office and anything else that was around anything related to the four years he was in office! It's one of the worst examples of a search warrant being overly broad I've ever seen and that came right from the top of Joe Biden's DOJ!
It allowed them to take any property pursuant to their investigation.

That included the classified documents.

The truth is...that raid was a fishing expedition looking for something they could use against Trump. That they didn't find anything simply makes Trump look better. Joe Biden is the sleaziest President we've ever had. Nixon tried to use the FBI against his political rivals and was rebuffed. Joe Biden HAS used the FBI against his chief political rival!
Well, they caught their fish given they found exactly what they thought they would find, classified military documents.

The documents were clearly marked classified and the DoJ is legally required to protect classified information.
Documents in the possession of a former President with the authority to classify them? So why did the search warrant allow them to seize other things, Marener?

Yes, documents in the possession of a former president who formerly had the authority to classify them.

The search warrant also included government records, evidence of obstruction of justice, and any information about how the classified documents were stored. This is all relevant information for their investigation.

So that would include things that had nothing to do with the stated purpose of the "investigation"! Admit it, Marener...that search warrant allowed them to take just about anything inside of that home. How do you justify that? How did a "judge" sign off on something that outrageous?

No, it didn't allow them to take "just about anything". That's simply a lie.

But I see you're not retreating from your original point and complaining about how broad the search warrant was, which wasn't very broad.

Government records are relevant to the investigation.

Would you like me to post the exact wording of the search warrant? It did indeed allow them to take just about anything and you know it! That was a fishing expedition conducted by that FBI team sent down to Florida specifically to carry it out. That could have easily been done by the FBI right there in Florida but that office wasn't anti Trump enough! The Garland DOJ sent agents down from Washington DC because what they really wanted was to embarrass Trump and the local FBI office wouldn't have done that.

The search warrant wasn't broad? LOL Now you're embarrassing yourself!

The FBI was expecting to find documents at the highest levels of classification and everyone involved had to have appropriate security clearances. It is a task for the National Security division, not the local yokels.

So you're giving up trying to claim the documents were declassified and moving onto a useless argument about the warrant being overly broad.

Everything stiuplated in the warrant is necessary for the investigation, which included investigating violations of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, concealment and removal of government documents.

When did I give up on anything? I think we've established that Trump had the authority to possess those documents. What else needs to be said?

My point about the search warrant is that there was a REASON why it was overly broad and the reason is that search was never about the recovery of classified documents but was always about finding something they could use against Trump. It's actually telling that they didn't find anything embarrassing. How many of you out there in internet world would have the same result if an FBI team raided your home and went through it looking for something to use against you?

No, we didn't establish that Trump had the authority to possess those documents. The former president does not have the authority to possess highly classified government documents and never has.

Your fringe conspiracy theory is completely bizarre. They found dozens of classified government documents, which was pretty embarrassing.

Well obviously a former President DID have the authority to possess government documents because US Presidents are the ultimate authority on classification! Can we agree that Trump had that authority when those boxes were packed up at the White House and he was still President?

It seems that we both agree that the former president does not have the authority to keep highly classified military documents at home.

Having the authority to declassify documents does not give him the right to keep highly classified documents.

Finding dozens of classified government documents dating back to when Joe Biden was a Senator is pretty embarrassing, Marener! Especially when Biden just sicced his DOJ on his chief political rival for possessing government documents! Could you possibly GET more embarrassing than that?

It's embarrassing for Trump given he had a legal obligation to turn overall those documents weeks earlier when he received a grand jury subpoena for them.

It's embarrassing because that is evidence of obstruction of justice.

When did we agree on that? President's leave office with documents. There has NEVER been a raid on a former President's home over a document dispute! NEVER!!! Not until the Biden Administration! What's most disturbing about that is the President who allowed that to happen was actually GUILTY of stealing classified documents!

That's something that should have been decided in a court of law. Instead the Biden DOJ went on a fishing expedition with a search warrant granted by a pet "magistrate"!
