We Are a Christian Nation

Everybody's heart goes out to the victims in Nashville. If you believe in prayer, then by all means pray for them. While thoughts and prayers can help many get through such a heinous act, they haven't done much to prevent more mass shootigs from happening. All caring people should see that we need to do more.
what do you propose we do with trans genders that will help with the problem

I don't think I've ever seen a mass shooter.

I've met plenty of people who would meet the criteria for those who wouldn't be surprised if they did something.
So we just lock them all up for no reason?
I mean, the US already has record numbers of prisoners in the world without locking up those who haven't done anything yet.

Ever wonder why other countries have less? Is it they have less crazies?
Not many countries have the number of crazies that we do. They don't have to be put in prisons. There used to be hospitals and asylums. Start with treating the transgendered with reality therapy.

It’s not really any wonder why other countries have less crazy people. They don’t have democrats destroying their civilization with insane ideas like pushing transgender nonsense on kids.

"reality therapy"?
Me thinks you don't know about how to deal with mental illnesses.
And the US hardly has much reality. Those needing reality therapy would go into the hundreds of millions.

Tell the men, you are not and never will be women. You will not get pregnant, you will not menstruate. Tell the women, you will never be a man. You will never father a child.

Thing is that people are saying they feel they have the wrong body for what their mind is.

Are you saying they're wrong?

Which atrocities, specifically? You can be sure it wasn’t Christianity that inspired any atrocities.
In fact, it was the introduction of Christianity into this hemisphere which ultimately supplanted the cycle of centuries of genocide by indigenous in North America of previous tribes with the creation of reservations.
Uh... yes, we are on the same page. Genocide, slavery, etc... a lot of things in the our history that isn't very Christian like. Then, you have Christians who for some reason, equate their political affiliation with their faith. In NO WAY did Christ ever affiliate, support or endorse the any politics in his ministry. EVER.

Yet, what do we see, many Christians carrying guns and equating constitutional right with spiritual acceptance. Absolutely ridiculous concept. Christ was a pacifist. The one time his follower picked up arms, Christ told them to put them down. And if any Christian points to the war raging god of the Old Testament as justification, they grossly mis-understand how Christ fulfilled the law and represents a completely new covenant that exists.

2000 years ago, if a man or woman was gay, they had gay sex. Some cultures openly accepted it and embraced it. Those that were gay accepted their bodies as they were but freely expressed their sexuality.

What has changed is modern medicine. Today, we can take a male who is gay and if they choose, they can transition.
Prior to modern medicine, hormone therapy, and surgery, males and females got on with who they were.
Now, modern medicine has created the possibility to transition. However, at what cost? You can't easily remove a penis and become a woman with a ton of surgery, hormone therapy, and continual maintenance. That has to weigh heavily on the individual.

And as for children, I hate that we are trying to make this okay.

There is that one Trans girl, Jazz. At 4 they started transitioning therapy. Because of this, her penis never experienced the growth during puberty.
Because of this, the doctors had very little material to use to create a vagina. Daily she is supposed to use a device to dilate her vagina or it will close up on itself.
She has also gained a lot of weight and is going through some mental issues right now.

WHy couldn't her/his parents accept that their son, at a very early age, might be gay and teach him to love his body?

"The framers of the Constitution thought the US is a Christian nation...."
Truely? Where did they make that claim?
In the Constitution.

Not only in Article VII do they acknowledge the Lord as Jesus, but the document provides for an observance of the Sabbath in its Presentment Clause, mandating that the President has ten days, excluding Sundays, to veto a bill lest it become binding (U.S. Const. art. I, S 7, cl. 2).

This, of course, carries over from the Declaration of Independence which references Christianity in four different clauses.

Interesting how athiests and agnostics know more about what is in the bible than religious nutjobs do.
Nutjobs don't know much, so kudos for that. Even for know-nothings, that can be noteworthy.

Do you know more about what's in the Bible than Christians do?

In 1789 the Senate and House appropriated funds to pay chaplains to pray at the opening of all sessions. In 1870, after the states one by one had designated Christmas a legal holiday, the Congress did likewise in the same year. And in 1912 the federal government began suspending mail delivery on Sundays.

And, as noted, most Americans have been Christians. Of course, the vocal minority relentlessly attacks the faith, reveling in its consequent decline.

What genocide?
Slavery was commonplace in Christ’s day and Jesus’ philosophy implored slaves and all who are subservient to respect those over them.
Jesus also figuratively recommended ‘full armor’.

The 10 Commandments was the basic template for the formulation of our laws.

No, it was not.

The first 4 commandments are not part of our laws at all. They are religious doctrine.
Of the remaining 6 commandments, 2 are only laws in specific circumstances, 1 is a nice platitude but not a law, and another is the basis for a capitalist society.

The only commandments that could be considered solid laws in our nation are laws that every civilization has used since the Code of Hammarabi.

You're in denial.

I certainly know more that many here who claim to be Christians.
