We all need to reflect on the polarization and violence that dominates our politics

Can you expound on this notion?
Thanks.

It was a professional, planned well organized hit by a trained sniper

Since the shooter apparently got away, I'd start with the 2 guys standing directly behind Charlie

If people on both sides think like you nothing gets done. Too many politicians on both sides think like you.
Take a look at the many compromises our founding fathers implemented to successfully build our country.
If they were like you, we would have no country.

What things should the right 'compromise' on? What things should the left 'compromise' on?

If someone even suggests that women can also have a choice of marriage and being a homemaker, the doxxing, destruction and smearing of the person who says it rolls int play.

Or that a women can become a man.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but my huntch is that someone within the faculty of that college is involved.

After you falsely impeached the president twice, called him a traitor and a fascist, invented the Russian Collision Hoax, had him convicted of fabricated charges.

Would you like to kick us in the nutsack a few times before we compromise, for good measure?

Go **** yourself and stick your "compromise" where the sun don't shine.

They're just blind to what they have done and/or supported and now want to act like it was nothing.

And yet, even after all of that, it's their side that is killing for our thoughts and beliefs.

Americans, on both sides of the political spectrum, are incensed by the senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk. There needs to be a focus on the needs of Kirk’s wife and children, so sad. There are idiots on both sides of the political spectrum who react, inappropriately, to violence toward politicians of the opposite party. In the past several months, besides the Charlie Kirk assassination, there were two attempted assassinations of Donald Trump, an attempted assassination of two democratic Minnesota legislators, ending in 3 deaths. and an arson fire started in the home of the democratic governor of Pennsylvania as his family slept upstairs.

Too often, one side blames the other side for everything that bad happens. Nobody can have it all the way we want. For success everyone must give a little.

We all need to find a way to lower the temperature. We need to work on finding areas of commonality. There will always be differences. We need to find a way to deal with the differences in a more functional way.

It is up to us, not someone else.
Inciting Rhetoric:
Key Democratic figures accused of using aggressive or inflammatory rhetoric include:
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries: The House Minority Leader has been cited for pushing Democrats to take their fight against Trump to the "streets" in a call to rally opposition.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris: In 2024, she came under scrutiny for using "bullseye" language in reference to Trump. Following a subsequent assassination attempt on Trump, she apologized for her comment, calling it a mistake.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: In February 2025, she was quoted in Commentary Magazine as having said that while violence isn't justified, political opponents need to understand that "denied claims" can be felt as "an act of violence".
Rep. Tom Suozzi: In March 2025, NPR reported on his remarks that the Democratic strategy cannot be fueled only by opposition to Trump, suggesting that aggressive anti-Trump sentiment had been a driving force.
Senator Chris Murphy: In February 2025, he was cited in Commentary Magazine for a comment suggesting that while he doesn't condone violence, "we need to listen to what people are feeling" after a shooting.
Factors influencing political rhetoric
While specific politicians have been singled out, a 2025 Springer journal article noted a broader trend where some partisan elites are increasingly using violent rhetoric on social media rather than denouncing political violence.
Beto O'Rourke's
"whatever it takes to fight them at all costs"
Obama "we gotta get tougher and fight harder"
& "they bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun"
are a few examples.
Schumer and Pelosi have slipped up as well, with shocking violent rhetoric.

The time for compromise is over. Democrats have exposed themselves as a thoroughly evil domestic terrorist organization. With the assassination of Charlie Kirk, they have taken this to holy war status. There is no compromise with evil.

The 3/5 compromise proves that we were. Sorry.

Back in 2010, the State of Texas removed Jefferson from some history books because he was in favor of separation of church and state. You guys don't want to be reminded of history as your blob has often whined about it being reminded of something "bad".

That would be the right as well.

I wouldn't call you a socialist but since in trump's first term, we bailed out the farmers twice...you probably are.

Agree.

Sounds good to me. It also sounds like a fairy tale you've made up.

Dunno...what else is in your imagination?

Each of your answers illustrates your ignorance of words and simple concepts.
A lot of your ignorance is intentionally thrust upon you by the people that you believe in.

I wanted his opinion on what should be compromised on, I'd like to know where he feels there is any room for it.

Here is a thread calling it “political theater” to attend the funeral of Rep Hortman killed by a maga antiabortion nut.

We have to find a way to have the majority, not all, find commonality in our politics.
Yeah well, you're in the minority. A minority that just murdered somebody for politics and free speech.
Good luck with that in America. I'm thinking this will not go well for you.

15th post
In the US there is no extreme right.

Oh there is, but they are marginalized and mostly consist of Aryan prison gangs, leftover KKK nutters, and a smattering of Neo-nazi idiots. All disorganized, all meaningless, and all used by the left in pathetic examples to link them to the mainstream right of this country.
