Well, we are not a Democracy as in "majority rule".

We were carefully crafted as a Representative Republic - where the majority would drive the Government while being ever mindful of minority rights.

Additionally, just so you are aware - we do not have a race to garner the most national vote totals, anytime.
Each state has an election.

If there was a contest to acquire the most votes in some national race, each of the candidates would campaign differently than they do now.

But as previously stated we do not have that.
