Pointless war? The hard-liners in Iran are all dead, the current president is pretty close to a moderate and incapable of ruling. Iran has descended into failed state status with the Revolutionary Guard prosecuting the war with the military sitting on the sidelines. Every drone and missile Iran expends can't be replaced.
