The Washington Post‘s fact checker gave former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden a "Four Pinocchio" rating for comments he made about President Donald Trump's tax cuts only benefitting the rich.
"There's a $2 trillion tax cut last year. Did you feel it? Did you get anything from it? Of course not. Of course not. All of it went to folks at the top and corporations," Biden said during a campaign rally in Pittsburgh on Monday.
Glenn Kessler, the Post's fact checker, started his analysis of Biden's false claim by saying, "Here we go again. Democrats have long attacked President Trump's tax cut in misleading ways," adding that Biden's comment is a "whopper." He went on to say the biggest problem with Biden's claim is his "sweeping declaration" that all of the tax cuts benefitted the wealthy.

We've previously given Democrats and Republicans Two Pinocchios for failing to make clear whether they are talking about the long-term or short-term tax-cut estimates for the law," Kessler wrote. And who determines “reality”?

All of us do. For example, you can be in a room full of people claiming that we all "create our own reality" yet, when it's time to leave not a one of them will try to walk through a wall by "creating a reality" when they can walk though walls. Everyone of them will walk out through the doorway because operationally, they understand that the real world consists of hard facts that they must recognize the reality of.

We all hear statements and claims, and a good first step is to determine if the statement is a testable one, that is, is it sufficiently formed to where either it, or it's negation can be proven to be true? If it's not a testable statement, then you need take it no further than to simple note that.

Those are testable statements. They are either true, or they are false.

Biden was addressing union workers and the Tax Policy Center found that 82 percent of taxpayers in the $50,000 to $75,000 range would get tax cuts. Biden's claim is clearly false.

Biden also made these odd claims: Joe Biden is committed to reversing the Republican tax plan because it is overwhelmingly a giveaway to the wealthy and big corporations that hard-working families can’t afford," said Biden's spokesman Andrew Bates.

Now what the hell does that mean? He is trying to create the impression that Trump took $2T out of the pockets of hard working families and gave it to the wealthy. But, Trump, again, did no such thing, in fact, Real Median Household Income in 2019 took it's biggest leap up, ever!

Further, Federal Receipts, didn't decline by $2T, despite the broad-based tax cut, Federal Receipts went UP and at a much stronger rate than Obama/Biden's final year.

So, how is Trump taking LESS FROM hard working families and corporations, yet, the US treasury just took in more than ever? Well, broad based wage gains, a progressive tax structure and smart trade policy. Trump has foreign companies paying a LOT of additional money for the privilege of access to the best First World Market on the Planet, the US Customer. And while the "experts" claimed that these costs would be passed on to us in the form of price inflation, they have not. Foreigners are paying lots and lots and lots to the US treasury, but, we are not experiencing price inflation.

That spike on the right? That's Trump's trade policies that he has been talking about since the 1980's but only now has he had the ability to implement them, and man are they working. Billions and Billions and Billions of dollars from foreign corporations, pouring into the US Treasury, because we are finally charging for what our previous policy makers insisted on giving away for free, access to our World Class Consumer markets. Clearly access to us is worth it, or these foreign corporations wouldn't be paying for it. We don't force them to do business with us, and even though Trump has raised the admission price, we still have the most accessible markets in the world, just more sensibly priced under Trump. And we make more, our workers make more, our Treasury makes more, and no price inflation. It's a very well crafted solution to a long term problem, but, hey, maybe you don't like his tweets.

Prayers for his fast recovery, in many ways he's just getting started. Next we need to rebuild our cities into world class centers of opportunity for our most economically challenged. Good schools, safe neighborhoods, world class facilities. The very best for our currently failing cities.
