Want ONE simple law to help curb mass-shootings?

REAL easy answer Nut4900.....anyone convicted of using a gun in ANY TYPE OF CRIME, is put to death the day after convicted...NO bullshit lawyers dragging it on with appeal after appeal... TOAST THEM, and SHOW every high schooler what happens! Drastic, yes, will it work...better than one would expect!

Yes, but the progressives refuse to blame the killers... They blame inert objects and crazier yet, the people/company making the inert object. That is all kinds of crazy.

If we wanted to make a substantial dent with mass shootings (almost impossible to eliminate without reversing the Constitution's 2nd amendment) pass a law that gun manufacturers AND gun vendors can be sued when their product is sold WITHOUT a thorough background and psychological clean bill of health.

But how?

They can't control the actions of who buys their products, no more than a grocery store can control someone who chokes on some meat they happen to buy from them. And you think this will curb mass murders?

Not only that, nat, the background checks we have right now fail miserably, simply because some idiot with NO PRIOR HISTORY passed one, then murdered 9 people. Your logic is a complete failure. More background checks won't help.

Regarding mass murders, we know that gun manufacturers (and their bought puppet, the NRA) fought and won the right to NOT be sued for the misuse of their deadly products.

The one issue the courts *not NRA puppets* have been very consistent on is gun rights.

If I kill you with a Louisville Slugger, will your next of kin sue the baseball bat manufacturer?

What if I ran you over with a Chevy? Will your next of kin sue Chevy?

If you inebriate yourself to death, will your next of kin sue Budweiser?

What if, while inebriated, you grab the gun you bought legally and go kill someone? Do you expect the victim's family to sue both Glock and Budweiser?

I could go on and on...but...

Because they would be tied up in court endlessly by assholes looking to make a buck because a product performed as designed. How about we put the same onus on auto manufactures and dealers to ensure drivers are responsible or face law suits for their misuse? What do you think a car would cost? After all the 14th requires equal treatment under the law.

Autos are not built to kill, hunt or for target shooting.......They are built to get you from one location to another...Whereas guns, assault rifles , etc., are built for........????

I am going to do something way out there and suggest it was the shooters that were responsible. It was not the guns that the shooter used nor any lack of legislation against murder already on the books.

I suggest you dig through the phone book and find your kindergarten teacher so she can help you with your reading comprehension skills. I not once said there was "no" evil intent in any of those countries, nor did I bring any of them up for discussion.

I'm saying that people like you link the gun to evil intent, and construe them to be one in the same. You therefore ignore the intentions of the wielder. The weapon is useless without the user.

So, by using your logic, if you ban the gun, you do away with the evil intent.
