Walz compares American Law Officers to German Nazis

When you “pay back” the deadbeats who paid into social security, where does that money come from?

It comes from what they put into the system over the years. I realize it isn’t the same pot. That money was spent many moons ago, but I never gave them permission to essentially spend the money I put into the system. That doesn’t mean they don’t owe it back to me. If you bought a long term CD with a fixed interest rate and the bank decided to spend the interest they owe you, that doesn’t absolve them of the responsibility to pay you the agreed upon interest.

Removing the cap sucks but it only affects the wealthier earners.

Raising the age is going to hit the working class the hardest. The wealthiest earners can still retire before 70 because they will have investments to live off of.

So that’s what you want to do? Protect the wealthy and hammer the working class?

Dude, the SS income cap is 176k. You act as if we are talking about billionaires here.

You say “they” as if it’s some ambiguous or unknown entity.

“They” is the younger generation and “they” don’t own you a ******* thing.

Talk is cheap. You deadbeats have always been really good at lowering taxes and very bad at cutting spending. That debt is on you. That’s what you deadbeats did to young people.

I bet you are excited that social security won’t be taxed anymore, further worsening the fiscal situation for social security with ZERO concern for the repercussions.

Are you going to ***** when social security benefits are required to be cut by 20-25%?

As I read it, no tax on SS is a Trump promise but its not in the bill.

$176k puts you into the top 7% of earners. You want to protect the top 7% and **** over the working class.

That’s your solution.

All of a sudden you care about the working class? You’re the one who is defending the invasion of 10 million illegals who are driving down house prices, driving up rents, and lowering the caliber of schools - ALL done at the expense of the working class.

Let’s get more welfare recipients into jobs - by requiring they work - and we will have a lot more coming into social security.

The working class already gets back in SS a bigger percentage of what they’ve paid in. The higher earners get back a fraction.

So you want to punish high earners even MORE rather than get welfare people into jobs, and contributing rwther than taking from society?

Again, you side with the wrong people.

Driving down housing prices makes it cheaper for the working class to buy a house.

The effect of illegal immigration on housing is minuscule. It’s even less when you consider how much illegal immigrants contribute to the building workforce and lowers the cost of new construction.

How about we just raise taxes on all you self-professed know it alls? How much more revenue do you think that would generate? What you folks really want is for someone else to foot the bill. For example, your side continues to fight to remove the SALT deduction cap which effectively lowers federal income taxes paid by wealthier Americans. You guys talk a big game, but the reality is your left-wing bleeding hearts only bleed when you aren’t picking up the tab.

Most people who delayed gratification, studied hard, went to college and majored in a career-oriented field OR had the motivation to start and run a successful business will at some point likely earn $176,000. That is their reward for having the right traits and making the right choices,

Left-wingers are generous with other people’s money.

People on welfare are the working class and they have jobs. Hard jobs. Jobs that ruin bodies.

But hey, let’s tell them they can work a few more years before they can retire, because the top 7% of earners don’t want their taxes to go up.

I never said I was in favor of raising the retirement age or removing/raising the income cap. You want to screw over those making over 176k. I can assure you that wealthier Democrats will not be in favor of such an increase.

Funny because the people arguing for SALT changes are the Republicans in Congress.

When Dems had control of Congress, did they change the SALT cap?

Funny how none of you will address the huge cut to social security coming in a few years when the trust fund runs out.

Right. You favored ending social security and returning the money to the people who paid in, as if that wouldn’t have any effect on the debt.

At least raising the cap is a solution. You deadbeats can’t only seem to make the problem worse.

Did you understand what Lisa said? She said that able-bodied people on welfare should work. Wow, what a novel idea.

She also stated that those who pay more into SS get less back as a percentage of their contributions. Did you not know that the benefit algorithm is purposely skewed that way? If you make 176k/yr, you won’t get back nearly as much(percentage wise) as someone who made 50k/yr.

Yeah, SS is a bad deal for high earners. What’s your point?

Republicans in blue states are arguing for a higher cap. Democrats want no cap as it was prior to Trump’s first term.

The SS cut won’t happen to average Americans, but we do need to cut spending. We should start by not protecting people who sneak over our orders.

What will probably happen is that those “rich” people that you loonies hate so much will likely get screwed. If you have x amount in net worth, you get less SS. That is a screw job, but that is what envious people will vote to do.

Then why are Democrats raising such a stink about work requirements proposed by Trump?

Yeah, SS is a bad deal for high earners. What’s your point?

It is a bad deal now and you want to make it even worse by removing the income cap. That is just wrong.

If the SS cut won’t happen, where is the money going to come from to make up the difference in what social security collects and what it pays out?
