Let’s also cut all the freebees and implement a flat tax so EVERYONE pays their fair share. There is no reason for the top 5% to be responsible for such a large portion of federal income taxes. I think a lot of us would be on board with that, but not Democrats. Nope, they need people like me and Man With a Plan who don’t have debt and who don’t rely on government programs to support all the handouts your side of the aisle supports.

At least it's a fiscally responsible way to help the problem with social security.

Of course we could just wait till the trust fund runs out and the problem solves itself. Granted, seniors will have to eat a 20-25% reduction in their benefits. The good news is that's probably going to happen even sooner than we thought if Trump gets his way and taxes on social security are taken out.
