Why the hell was MacArthur chosen to accept the surrender of the Japanese when the only thing the old WW1 Soldier accomplished in WW2 was losing his entire Army within four months of Pearl Harbor? Vulgar U.S. Soldiers even nicknamed MacArthur "Dugout Doug" after he abandoned his Troops (under orders), received the Medal of Honor for waving his fist at a Japanese fighter plane and spent the rest of the war in Australia planning grandiose operations while Admirals Nimitz and Halsey duked it out with the Japanese in the Pacific.
